Alnashetri was definitely a small coelurosaur, however beyond that a lot of its classification is up for debate due to its lack of remains. It was found in the Candeleros Formation in La Buitrera, Río Negro Province, Argentina, and lived in the Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous, about 97 million years ago. It is only known from the hind limb remains of a single individual, and it lacks synapomorphies to allow for unambiguous classification. It has been placed with the alvarezsauroids after cladistic analysis due to the anatomy of the ankle. It lived alongside many animals such as snakes, Buitreraptor, mammals and pterosaurs.
