well you were reblogging a lot of cats so i sort of assumed you were
MARTI'S IN THE CATS TAG
AHHHHHH TOO MUCH CUTE
The setting sun, symbolic of all the things that had ended, or were ending now--it never seemed quite clear to him if there was ever going to be an end to this--and the thing that bothered him most right now was that Carolina at least had the chance to go down and visit the place where York had died, but all he had was the setting sun and the knowledge he'd never have that chance for closure when it came to Connie. But then Caboose called him his friend and then things didn't look quite as grim.
Aaaw!
I love the comparison between these two different pairings (plus Director/Allison). And the idea that Wash, presumably, for so long had no idea what happened to Connie exactly, and now knows but has absolutely no chance of closure after all the other things in his life -
And Caboose is there for him. I loved that scene for that tiny little line. Thanks for fic'ing it!

what’s this ‘despite’ caveat about? FFN is much better formatted for chaptered fics.
I completely agree, but I feel like there's a stigma against FFN around here. I sortof understand, since with the notable exception of the RVBRC there really isn't much good fic over there, and reviews are, if you're lucky, vaguely related to the subject of your story. This is personal experience, but I feel like other people on tumblr have this sidelong opinion of FFN. I love its formatting to death, and it's beautifully organized and reliable. I just very rarely get any sense of either community or uncommon intelligence there (again, the group where I met you is a notable exception.)
I'm thiiiis close to not posting any RvB fics on FFN any more, because the reviews I get are often inane.
