Here is another campaign from Andersen M Studio, which gives a much different experience to 'Plant Life'. The lighting here is much darker and there is a more realistic appearance of mist and fog around the hills at the beginning, whereas the background in plant life is more obvious that it was digitally created. At some points the props and paper creations look like shadows because of the low lighting. Map paper is used to create most of the sculptures such as the ship, which looks old, discoloured and parchment like, as opposed to using clean white paper in plant life. The music and sound effects here also helps to create the eerie feel and uses realistic sounds of being out at sea in a storm, whereas plant life has a more lighthearted track that uses instruments that would be asscosicated with growth in nature. In both animations the camera angles enhance the paper creations by using close up and perspective shots, and then placing them in context by showing the ship in the water. This ad makes me think about what kind of effect I want the scenery I create to have, and makes me consider how using lighting, music and possibly camera angles can help me to do this.
