The spring festival:

Summary: Farmer tries to hold hands with march.

Comment: I got so obsessed with this game it got me into writing wow. I was writing this with my oc in mind but this can totally be read as x reader, i haven't mentioned any particular detail that would ruin that, if somehow i missed something please correct me.

It was the day of the spring festival, you had been looking out for it ever since you lost to Celine the year before. This time for sure you'll get first place! You had worked hard preparing for it, but now you can finally relax and enjoy yourself while waiting for the results.

Walking around chatting and catching up with your neighbours you found yourself asking Nora about that new shipment she got for the general store, listening to Maple tell you all about the duties she'll have once she becomes queen, having luc pop quiz you about one of his bug facts...

In the middle of all this, you hadn't even realised you had walked up to March, but there he was standing next to you. You struck up a conversation asking him about his day, if he had any new projects coming his way, the usual stuff.

It was a basic conversation, and you don't know what compelled you but the festival's atmosphere was different this year, it gave you the courage to get closer to him, to make a move no matter how small it was. You couldn't just stay pinning for him forever, you'd been in this town for a little over a year now, and you know you had to do something about the little crush you have on the blacksmith.

You take a deep breath, you don't dare looking his way, the only thing you manage to do is slowly approach your hand to his, carefully intertwining your pinky with his. You sort of expected him to reject you and tell you to move along, but instead you feel him roughly grab your hand, squeezing it tightly. You throw a glance his way moving from your locked hands to his face, only to notice his ears becoming as red as his hair, and him clearly avoiding looking your general way.

At least you're not the only one struggling with a mental battle. That's reassuring in some way, but it doesn't stop the heat from rushing to your cheeks. Knowing he also wants you by his side, or at the very least, doesn't dislike you holding hands, makes you feel so full of joy you almost forgot about your little competition.

At that very moment they decide to reveal the results and low and behold, Celine won... Once again. But it didn't matter that much anymore, you were happy for your friend and there was always next year.

For now you were perfectly content with where, or with who, you were standing right this moment.
