I’m writing a paper on police work and am using Adam 12 (and Dragnet) as a source! Any particular episodes or scenes or situations that would be great for examples of excellent police work? (Or terrible police work, because The writers didn’t veer away from that).
I have wrong police behavior...Like Ed Wells in the first season ep. or Malloy reacting to the child abductor by roughing him up. (Tod seemed to be the same way too...different show)..maybe a few others.
I want to give my audience a sense that the police are mere humans with human actions that work with a badge and uniform and possess some regulations and rules on how they should act on the job...
So any suggestions? I realize that a lot of the blogs based on Jack Webb shows haven’t been as active but it’s worth a shot. I have yet to collect the whole series and only have the first, so help is welcomed! :)
ALERT: if any of you have Amazon Prime...and are a fan of Martin Milner. Route 66 season 1 is available!
1-Adam-12 see the man and don’t laugh
Hosted by Dan Rowan and Dick Martin, this ground-breaking variety show was a fast moving barrage of jokes, one-liners, running skits, musica
These two are great 😂
And now the end is near...
Route 66 was a fantastic historical journey across the USA. And in celebration of finishing the series (and me getting back into drawing after a semester of strictly school :P)
I present all three boys of the show...(I need to practice on the car...)
The colors of the names match their eyes- and Glenn Corbett has some amazing blue eyes- honestly each one has a special characteristic that makes them unique.
Martin Milner (Tod Stiles) -freckles and facial expressions
George Maharis (Buz Murdock)- smile and passion
Glenn Corbett (Linc Case)- shocking blue eyes and Texan attitude
Even though the majority don’t like Linc- I did. Might’ve been him being from Texas but still I liked his character...it would’ve been better if he wasn’t just a replacement for Buz...and I wish we heard more from Buz even if he wasn’t in the show.
Also would’ve loved to see the Vietnam vet in Linc played out more. It wasn’t played out enough, I feel, but it got some showing. First ep with Linc was good.
Anyroads, that’s my spew...rewatch and now may think up some fanfics...
Viva La Route 66!
Route 66 -culture references
Tod Stiles: “just the facts ma’am” (Dragnet, minus the ‘ma’am’ part)
Random Hotel Clerk in Season 3 episode 29: “Y’all come back, ya hear?” (Beverly Hillbillies)
This is too funny! Just seeing them laugh makes me laugh.
Love these two :)
Most of y'all don't realize, I am a really old guy. Proof is in the fact that I am heartbroken over the passing of Martin Milner, star of Adams 12. This was one of my favorite TV shows as a kid, and one of the reasons I chose law enforcement as a career early on in my adulthood. Here's to a great actor who gave me alot of good memories. #martinmilner #adams12 #leo #lawenforcement #memories #tv #rip #igmilitia
