That being said, Iam stoked that LGBTA+ couples of all kinds can now get married, andeven adopt without much trouble in some places. However, sometimes Ithink we push for too much too fast, or maybe too hard. I don’t know.

I just…accepting others takes timeand patience. It’s not going to happen overnight, no matter how muchwe might want it to. There will always be people who are going topush back, but those people are starting to become the minority.Honestly, I think what bugs me the most about the whole thing isthat, in our effort to gain equality, we put other groups down justas harshly as they do to us. Oh, that person over there is Christian?They must be a homophobic ass trying to force their beliefs down mythroat.

I am not even kidding. I’ve seen thisso many times and it pisses me off to no end. On top of that, wetreat others of our community with the same sort of discrimination asothers. Bi men and women are always getting told that they aren’treally a part of our community unless they’re in a same sexrelationship, because otherwise they’re just another straight couple.Like..no? They’re still bi, just because they have a partner of onegender doesn’t mean they aren’t still attracted to the other.

And don’t even get me started on howcruel people can be to those who are Trans or Ace, because I willjust end up wanting to strangle someone. Stop erasing peoples sexualor gender identities because you don’t like them or agree with them.Stop telling people on the Ace spectrum that they ’just haven’t metthe right person yet’ or some other stupid bullshit along similarlines. Stop bloody misgendering people. If a person tells you thatthey use a certain set of pronouns, fucking use them. Occasional slipups can happen, but just apologize, correct yourself, and move onwithout making a giant fuss over it.

Anyway, I’m going to stop here, becauseotherwise I could probably go on all damn day and no one wants that.”

     hNG oh man there’s a good bit going on there and I Love It. With Samson I feel like Kivari drops a lot of fronts she has? I’m not saying she’s open by any means but Samson isn’t a Warden, he isn’t someone depending on her to do or be anything. She has no expectations to fulfill and can act, speak, and be according to how she feels. And God, Kivari’s just really tired. She’s too young to be as bitter, exhausted, and done with the world as she is and yet she cares so much. Will completely deny it, of course, but anyone with a decent pair of eyes can see that she’s got a bleeding heart. It parallels Samson to some degree and I feel like he might notice that? I remember in one of our first threads Samson insisted Kivari’s practice selfishness while she still can. I can’t recall his exact dialogue but that just really resonated with the parallels.They’ve both been through their share of hell just trying to do the right thing and came out with varied results.

     On a lighter note their morbid, dry humor is always a kick. They’re on the same wavelength where nothing the other says surprises them or leaves them wondering “should I laugh or”. They’re in a place where they can just go “fuck it” and do and say as they please with zero judgment from one another and I really love that about their friendship.

@martyriium is one of my favorite people here. I never thought I'd care about Samson but holy shit have I come to care more about him than I thought I could. And Vee is great too. Outstanding writing and plots all around.

Moonlight poured through the windows of the main hall, painting the tables and stone in silvery colors. At this time of night no one moved about, most asleep or on duty at the walls. Or pickling themselves in the tavern. The empty hall suited Olek just fine. After hours of strategy and planning over maps and reports, his nerves were a little too frayed to act the part of Inquisitor.

Leaning against a table for a moment, he took a long pull on his pipe. He’d have to stop in with Skyhold’s resident herbalist in the morning, he was nearly out of the blend of herbs they’d made for him. But that was for tomorrow. For now he enjoyed the snap of elfroot on his tongue, another deep smoky breath easing the aches in his knee. The smoke caught the moonlight, dancing briefly in the air before fading away. Olek blew out another puff of smoke and grinned. “Dragonbreath. Should show that t’ Bull.”

Shaking his head with a soft laugh, he straightened and winced. The elfroot helped, but rest would do him more good. A good thing his bed wasn’t far. His nice soft bed. What a thought. Pipe caught in his teeth, Olek hummed happily to himself as he limped on down the hall.

He’s trembling a little. The last dose of the new lyrium had burned its way down his throat in a way he wasn’t used to, a way that troubled him. He’s been trying to put off the next dose...but the cravings aren’t to be ignored. He looks at the general a moment before taking the red vial he offers, popping the cork open. “Thank you, ser,” he murmurs.
