Pairing: Daken/Bullseye (background Cable/Deadpool, Karla/Mac)

Summary: How Daken got a pet killer of his own, accidentally became domestic, and very accidentally became a hero who risked everything to save thousands of lives.

Review: this is a fic which seems to jump around somewhat, and ends very abruptly, but that's because it's a companion piece to 'Dreams of a Waking Man', and I'd suggest you read that first, since this wont make a whole lot of sense without it.

With it, this is a gorgeous little fic, exploring a very dark version of a little known Marvel pairing, but one that works well. The side characters are excellent (especiall X-23's daughter Juliet who once again displays Lex's amazing tallent for believable and loveable OCs, and Mac, the current venom).

While it could be argued that this fic brushes over some of the darker aspects of their relationship, ultimately you wont care because Daken and Bullseye are just too damn cute for words. The Ultimate 'psychopaths in love' fic.

(Oh and you really dont need to know their comics to enjoy this. So long as you've read Dream of a Waking Man and have access to Wiki, this is a must read.)

Summary: The Fidelis-473 Network monitors hundreds of timelines across the multiverse. These are just a few of them.

Review: One of the most intellectually challenging fics out there, but also one of the most satisfying.

These are stories set in the same Universe as Dreams of a Waking Man, the one where timelines are monitored, repaired, and sometimes destroyed, but the F473 Network. The fics themselves cover hundreds of possible permutations of the Marvel universe, and the fics reflect that diversity. There are sweet fics, and sad fics and funny fics and cool fics and some downright heartbreaking fics (Bill's snowflakes, oh my gods my feels!) Basically if you are a Marvel fan and you don't read these, I am judging you so damn hard!

Pairing: Cable/Deadpool (mentions of Stryfe/Wade, Julian Keller/Laura Kinney, Teddy Altman/Billy Kaplan, Bullseye/Daken, Kate Bishop/Eli Bradley, AU!Wade/Logan)

Summary: A circular fic set in Lex's AU Earth 339, covering such topics as romance, parenting, the apocolypse, Apocolypse, why Nate's an idiot, why Wade loves him anyway, why Stryfe is the worst boyfriend ever and correct maintenance of Timestreams.

Review: I would give at least two of my fingers to be able to write something this good. Not just one of the best Cable and Deadpool fics I've ever read, but just one of the best things I've ever read.

There's a lot of references to fairly obscure 616 stuff, but so long as you're capable of using Wikipedia that shouldn't be a problem. You also don't need to know Cable and Deadpool to any large degree to enjoy this fic.

There are also elements that, especially to those who know Marvel canon, will seem odd. These are explained in the other fics set in the same world, which I will also be recc'ing.

For the love of god, Marvel fans, READ THESE FICS! (But be prepared to be punched in the feels. I can't remember the last time I cried at anything as much as I cried at this!)

You know when you read a thing and just think 'well that's it, might as well just give up now, because I will never read another thing as good and I'll never write this thing because someone else already did, so what's the point of anything'? Well that's how I feel about the Dreams of the Waking Man. Everything in my life is pointless now I've read it.

You should probably read it too. So long as you don't mind that it will render your life meaningless.

Review: Okay, so I like fics where the consent issues are so complicated they're borderline incomprehensible. As far as I can tell, this pairing exists almost exclusively to produce those fics. Gods I love this pairing.

You'll start of thinking the consent here is very dubious but believe me it gets more so. Personally I don't think this is non-con, but avoid if you've got trigger issues.

This should be pure PWP, but you'll be thinking so hard about the consent issues that you'll find it turns into something so much more in your mind. Recc'd because the world needs more porn that really makes you think. Also it's hot.

Rec: Masters of the Universe by NezumiPi

Fandom: XMen

Pairing: Tony Stark/Steve Rogers, Erik/Charles (platonic, they're only kids)

Summary: Ororo Monroe is asked to foster a deeply disturbed little refugee boy called Erik. He seems fairly normal, except for the voice he hears in his head. The voice of a boy called Charles. Oh, and he believes he's being hunted by an evil being with glowing red eyes who accidentally gave him supernatural powers. All in a days work for a foster carer extrordinaire.

Review: This is a fic of two halves, and the first half is a lot better than the second. Honestly, as I told NezumiPi, I think this should be a novel. Despite that it is well well worth a read, and not only for manic teenage Tony Stark building models of reactors out of newspaper in the lobby of a very expensive hotel. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to punch Tony. Next time you've got an hour or two free, read this. It won't be time wasted.
