i’m sorry but the bucky as a congressman thing is still just. SO STUPID given what the mcu has established about him as a character and how it handled the winter soldier. like…. we know barely anything about his pardon, the last we saw he could barely stand being around sam, one of his closest associates and friends, at first and didn’t really trust anyone. he struggled to date let alone socialize because of the difficulty of making connections, he struggled with survivors guilt and guilt over what hydra made the soldier do, he struggled with loss of autonomy, with wartime ptsd, with his emotions, with trusting others, with grief. not to mention HE COULDNT EVEN TRAVEL WITHOUT GOVERNMENT PERMISSION AND IF HE MISSED HIS MANDATED THERAPY HE WENT TO JAIL HOW DID THIS MAN (WHO IN THE EYES OF MANY OF THE PUBLIC KILLED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING A FUCKING PRESIDENT) RUN FOR OFFICE AND WIN? let alone like????? WHY WOULD HE WANT TO???

I word vomited on my blog just now about some Complaints I been seeing. Tl;dr, I don't think ~romantic love~ is what caused the Nexus event and also people are ignoring Loki's attachment to Mobius because of their fear of his attachment of Sylvie.

Well, if you're saying fear of one romance is cancelling out the plausibility of another, I'm that odd person who doesn't ship Loki with Mobius or with Sylvie, and in all fairness, I do think that people don't ship Loki with Sylvie for more valid reasons than fear or jealousy of an in-universe romance. @latent-thoughts is a good person to consult here. Ultimately I won't step into this debate because I can see it turning into (not in your hands, but in the hands of less, uh, nuanced fandom thinking) a pretty aggressive ship war, and I've never been interested in those. The only ship for Loki I absolutely cannot abide is with Thor, for obvious reasons.

When you say "I don't think ~romantic love~ is what caused the Nexus event," I couldn't agree more. As I said a few posts down, I think it's more a matter of Loki learning that he has self-worth, autonomy, and identity irrespective of the approval of others, by displacing his nascent love of self onto Sylvie, who both is and isn't the same person as he. And that kind of self-awareness, that kind of self-ownership, runs SO COUNTER to the TVA’s goals that it breaks the sacred timeline immediately. Only further evidenced by Loki meeting all the other Variant Loki’s the moment he’s pruned. Shit’s about to go DOWN with that many ingenious conniving minds bonding and working together.
