For my next distraction
Here is more girl dad Desmond with Hela as his new kid.
Teen Hela is recently imprisoned when Desmond appears in a show of light. She thinks he is a lousy assassin sent by her father to finish the job and acts accordingly. Desmond dodges her attacks and gives her pointers. The initial fight becomes a spar until they tire themselves out and sleep.
When she wakes up it's to find Desmond with a puppy version of Fenris. She doesn't know how. The last time she saw her beloved partner he was chained with Gungnir poised for attack in her father's arms. She didn't see the killing blow, but she felt the moment her partner left their realm. She knows the pup cradled in her arms is one in the same. The tears fall without her permission, and the mortal coddles her. Just this once, she'll allow herself this embarrassing display.
When she wakes up it's to find Desmond walking her partner. It isn't going as well as the mortal would like seeing as Fenris was a rambunctious pup and Desmond's pants are suffering for it. He laughs at her partner, all but encouraging where Odin would kick him.
Her time in isolation then becomes a time of growth and healing. He father becomes the Odin while in her mind Desmond becomes her father. It isn't until she realizes what it means for Desmond to be human that she cries again because she doesn't have food for him and she doesn't want him to suffer. This is the moment that makes him go 'fuck' because he hasn't been hungry all this time. He also doesn't tire first when they spar. She had to be careful at first, making sure to hold her strength back. Now she can't remember when he became able to withstand her full might.
Eventually Odin falls into a sleep (Thor 1) and Hela decides she wants to see the world. She wants to show it to Desmond who saw more than a discarded weapon. So she does. Breaks a hole without warning. The squeak Desmond made as she carried him over her shoulder while cradling Fenris in her other arm is was enough to make her laugh at her dad.
Midgar is their first stop. It's where he came from so she has become curious to see her father place of birth. Desmond is excited because this new world has no assassin's or templars. It has it's own heroes so he can retire for the most part. Hela used his tutelage to steal her inheritance from the vault back in Asguard and her belongings. Once they find a someone good enough to make up some documents, they will be able to set up a house for when they take a break from their travels. The explore space through Desmond's 'upgraded apple powers' and find the best space bars to fight in. They might gotten into some trouble with the Nova Corps a time or two, but it was nothing Desmond could talk them out of.
Fast-forward to Thor Ragnarok and everyone is confused when Hela is nowhere to be found and Fenris is no longer under his magic chains. One one side are the people who want her dead in an attempt to prevent the destruction of Asguard. On the other side are people who think protecting her IS preventing the destruction of Asguard.
If she ever becomes in charge of Asguard Desmond will be her gatekeeper. Since Heimdall was Odin's gate keeper and voted for her exile, she wouldn't want him to be her gate keeper. And as far as she is concerned Desmond's eyes are far more superior. His physiology change while he joined her in prison (adopting Asguardian traits) so he just need an apple to make him an official Asguardian citizen.
