Hello Conviction! You and Nikko are my favourite Loki bloggers! It's so rare to find good OG Loki content these days. Also what do you think about the upcoming Avengers doomsday movie? I don't even know whether I should care about Loki being in it or not. If he is Larry then atp I don't care at all. But a part of me is still hoping he would magically have OG Loki's personality again. I mean if they retconned him once they could retcon him again. It's very wishful thinking. I am curious about how his reunion with Thor would go, but I am like 99% sure it will be badly written. I think I will only watch the movie if reliable fans of OG Loki think it's good lol. 😭

hey anon thanks for your kind words unfortunately i can't give you much of an opinion about doomsday, i lost my trust in marvel and don't follow anything new they are doing now. i can't even recall who is writing or directing the film.

happy to stay in my OG LOKI era and not expect anything from that studio anymore. and also sadly, from tom. he's made it clear he gets his buzz from acting the clown and frankly i can't even watch it. so unless i hear from reliable sources that somehow as you said, magically, OG LOKI is in the film, i'm not interested.

and especially not with whatever chris thinks he's doing these days. i can't even call it "thor" because it's just puerile garbage. so embarrassing...

seeing tom flap around like he does now combined with chris posturing and make his stupid look-a-meeee jokes would be the complete opposite of entertainment.

context: LOKI is OOC in the disney plus series.

not even addressing the fact that every one of LOKI’s canon appearances has involved him being thrown violently from his comfort zone into a reality he’d never before experienced. and not addressing the rest of the post which is frankly insulting to any trauma survivor ever and robs them of the agency to form coherent thought without apparently colouring everything with experiences of their trauma...

but will directly address THIS: “The things that he once regarded as being important are no longer important.“

oh really? so LOKI:

no longer cares about being fairly represented to others?

not bothered if he gets physically restrained, threatened, injured?

doesn't care if people he loves are in danger?

is no longer upset by the loss of or alienation from his family?

not interested in justice or respect or being treated like an equal?

not fussed about his past, the lies his family raised him with, the fact that he views himself as a monster and so assumes everyone else does too?

(i could go on) COS LAST TIME I FUCKING LOOKED THESE WERE THE THINGS THAT WERE IMPORTANT TO HIM.

you CANNOT explain major personality, appearance, and character changes (that were incidentally present BEFORE LOKI even arrived in the TVA, right from the opening scenes of the series) by brushing it off with that “explanation”. it’s showrunner propaganda and it doesn’t bear up under examination.

ALL of the bullet points i mentioned above were not only observable in LOKI’s previous canon depictions in the movies but ALSO FULLY PRESENT in the series - the DIFFERENCE was, he was performing them all totally out of character, as though it was SOMEONE ELSE operating under those same driving motivations.

his mannerisms and speech patterns changed, his posture was different, his reactions were overblown, facial expressions and demeanor and physical appearance ALL altered from the character who had been built up over the thor 2011 and avengers 2012 films (which are the ONLY relevant ones since this instance of LOKI follows directly on from those two appearances).

and THIS is what the series anti fans mean when they say he was OOC. NOT whatever it was that you said.
