Janet had rendered Bobbi useless for the day. Her entire body aches and all she had in her mind was go home, prepare herself a nice hot bath, some chardonnay and just lay there. Hopefully a nap would be in place. Whoever said that modeling some clothes for a friend was the easiest thing in the world hasn’t met Janet Van Dyne. She would’ve much preferred being in some undercover assignment but Bobbi hasn’t had one of those for a while. Mainly because she had decided to help her friend out with Nadia and the girls.

Honestly? She enjoys it, more than she thought she would. Still, sometimes Bobbi misses being in the field but now that she had partially retired and now dedicated herself to her field as a biochemist, the mockingbird feels a sense of accomplishment she hasn’t had before. It also leaves her with time to have an actual life. Though that last part is harder than she first anticipated. At first her thoughts went to trying to reconnect with her mother and brother but it felt unfair to uproot their lives like that after years of thinking her dead and there’s also her father who is still running around with HYDRA and she wants to prevent her family to go through more misfortune. So she keeps her life as it is, and makes the most of it.

And right now? All she wanted was to relax but of course easier said than done. After a quick trip to the supermarket, Bobbi returned to her car only to be met with the surprise it wouldn’t turn on. “Great.” She muttered to herself as popped open the hood. Looking around the motor, Bobbi tilted her head. “How is it I know the entire periodic table but can’t fix a car problem.” Taking out her phone from her back pocket, she got ready to call for help when a voice captured her attention.

“You need help?” They said, and Bobbi stopped herself from hitting send to look at the stranger.

“That would be appreciated.” The blonde replied back, stepping to the side so they could look at the motor.

     Caitlyn watches a half-eaten banana regenerate its full shape and wrap itself up in its peel. Transmutation of matter, achieved through reaching into the astral plane, into the very fabric of space-time itself. Some of the heroes she worked with used technology to appear larger than life. Some of the fantastic beings were born with godlike powers, others gaining them through unique mutations.

     Strange and the disciples of the Sanctum learn magic, in the same way she had studied law and physics and philosophy. Caitlyn doesn’t remember a single time that a lecture at Chapel Hill ever allowed her to manipulate even the coffeemaker in her home.

     Before taking the position of Sorcerer Supreme, Strange had been a brilliant neurosurgeon. He has not told Caitlyn how exactly his career transitioned from the medical field into the study of the occult, but she realizes that this is just another domain Strange is adept at. The doctor has a point; people may mistake talent for consistent supply to the masses’ demand. But Caitlyn has been around too many extraordinary people and things to think that all gifted people simply keep up appearances.

     “Talent is a gift,” Caitlyn continues, turning her gaze to look at the New York skyline, “though you can ask any Trojan, and they’d agree that not all gifts are blessings. I prefer to think of it as a seed, and depending on how it is nourished and cared for, it provides all kinds of fruit for its cultivator.”

     She walks up to the banana, again fully formed, on the desk. A nail scrapes against it. It’s solid, all right.

     “You have been a diligent harvester.”

( sometimes she curses the area she went into, the interest she has in it. in the beginning she told herself she'd be able to balance ... & yet it hasn't gone the way she hoped. she finds herself out of most loops, missing out on important things for people around her. did she want that to be her entire life ? ) brown eyes turn toward the sky as another cast of gray comes over them. it might rain again.

it was their words that make head turn, brown eyes widen as a sense of ... hesitation washes over her. rhaenyra must be thinking of her mother again. ❛ i'm sorry, rhaenyra. ❜ is all alicent can think to say no matter how not enough it feels to speak aloud. arms uncross for her to reach out, to place palm on the others arm as if to give silent, physical comfort. ❛ do you ... want to talk about it again ? it might help. ❜ then, suddenly, guilt washes over alicent fully. had she been ignoring something unintentionally, has rhaenyra been struggling & she's been too focused on her own to truly see ? stomach turns.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY.

Aditi Moreau was born in France into a household shaped more by academic obsession than familial warmth. Her father, a prominent geneticist, intentionally pursued relationships with multiple mutant women to engineer a lineage that could advance his mutant–human integration theories. Of his six children, Aditi was the first whose mutation manifested.

Her abilities activated during a car accident involving several family members. Faced with imminent death, she involuntarily dispersed into a semi-corporeal mist state and survived. Two of her siblings did not. In the aftermath, her father subjected her to prolonged experimental observation under the guise of voluntary participation. She received all of his attention, further straining familial bonds and deepening resentment among her siblings.

That resentment culminated in a poisoning attempt by one of her brothers. Though she survived, the attack caused permanent pulmonary damage, leaving her dependent on respiratory support. She was subsequently removed from her father’s care, and his research was suspended under ethics review.

Aditi later came to the attention of Charles Xavier and was offered sanctuary and structured training at his school for gifted mutants. Within the stability of the Institute, she refined control over her mutation and began disentangling her identity from her father’s work. However, during her early years at the school, she encountered the same brother who had attempted to kill her years before, now aligned with an anti-mutant faction. When given the opportunity to incapacitate and detain him, she hesitated. He nearly killed her again.

The incident reinforced her lingering fears, solidifying her reluctance to participate in frequent on-field missions. Over time, she chose to remain at the Institute, eventually assuming a faculty position where her strengths lay in instruction, research, and infiltration rather than frontline combat.

DOCUMENTED ABILITIES.

Mistform Transmutation: She can convert her physical form into a cohesive vapor state. While in this state, Aditi is resistant to almost all physical damage and capable of passing through confined or sealed spaces as long as there are holes\cracks.

Atmospheric Vapor Generation & Control: She draws moisture from ambient air to generate fog or mist, with control over density, movement and duration.

Chemical Mist Manipulation (after extensive training): Aditi can alter the chemical properties of generated mist, producing:

Hallucinogenic effects ( sensory distortion, disorientation – must be paired up with telepaths and\or mutants who can alter one's perception of reality. )

Acidic vapor capable of degrading metals and electronic systems.

making an adjustment to harriet’s marvel mutant verse - i wanna lean more into the fae aspect of her main verse physiology and give her a freaky lil alternate form. something kinda reminiscent of old spooky illustrations of fae creatures, the ones with long spindly fingers, extra knuckles, and spooky faces. it’s a form she often avoids taking until she begins to experience physical pain from suppressing it and she will ONLY transform for self-defence most of the time. she will often do her best to keep herself confined in her apartment until she regains enough control to revert back.
