MY BELOVED ok right so listen. My mans is fucked up, i won't deny that. But he DID do most of what he did trying to save someone he loved, and don't we all love a tragic love story where the character slips a little too far into insanity during their journey? Also he seemed so much happier when he was around the Guardians of the Multiverse in the season 1 finale, like he just needs friends!!! See also: end of season 2 seems to imply that he wouldn't have descended further into madness if he just had some friends to remind him of his humanity. (Maybe that's just the way i interpreted it but like. Look at him. This sad pathetic wet cat of a man. He just needs a found family to help him through his trauma. Also, he'd protect the found family with his immense power, so there's that too.) To quote my initial pleas to adopt him: ADOPT HIM PLEASE! The writers really fucked him up in season 2. I mean he was already fucked up a bit but like, after the season 1 finale I had such high hopes for his character to be redeemed only for those hopes to be smashed to dust. Please please this scrungly man did everything for the love of his life, and then suffered the consequences his actions wrought. Now we should let him in to the found family so we can make sure he's loved enough to not screw up again. (Like he had such potential for a redemption arc that the writers WASTED! Maybe that's the fanfic writer in me but still…)

Could the Infinity Train have saved Doctor Strange Supreme (Marvel's What If...?)? Reason for being on the Infinity Train: Got into a car crash where his girlfriend died, turned to the mystic arts to try and heal but instead found the time Stone and tried to undo her death - except her death is a fixed point, and undoing it would create a paradox, but he only learns this after countless time loops where he fails to save her every single time. But the trauma is strong and so he goes further back in time to an ancient library, finds forbidden knowledge on how to undo fixed points, and to do so absorbs lots of demons and other magical creatures, turning himself into basically an eldritch-like creature himself. briefly brings his girlfriend back to life but this causes his entire universe to destabilize and melt away, girlfriend included. Strange is powerful enough to save himself but then he's just trapped alone for all eternity with his demons. So just. LOTS of trauma to work through really.

He would not get worse or better but never leave the train
