Pietro accepted his sister’s offered hand with a rueful smile, standing and rubbing the sore spot on his head with a mixture of embarrassment and genuine pain. “Her? Oh, the girl.” He snorted, “I think she was at the coffee shop down the street.” He replied, “Or a receptionist downstairs. One of the two, I can’t remember.”

“But what about you, dear sister? Any boys I need to talk to?” And of course, by talk he meant threaten any man who even came near his baby sister.

Steve had deliberated a bit over just how they could add Wanda to the team. She had such unique abilities, he wanted to make sure that she was put in a good position. The problem with that was that he didn’t have any idea on the full scope of her powers. He had seen something, that was true...but he wouldn’t know enough until he got her to demonstrate it before him when there weren’t stressful factors to consider.

So he took a breath and made his way through the Avengers compound, knocking lightly on the door to Wanda’s room there. “Wanda? I hope this isn’t a bad time...” he started, awkward as he tried to find the right words to put this forward. She was young, and Steve wanted to make sure that he could support her as a leader. The best way he knew how was to help her control her powers some. Or at the least, train together and make her be able to build up confidence with it.

“I know we haven’t had a lot of time to talk yet...but I was hoping maybe you’d join me for a couple of training sessions. If you’re busy now though don’t worry. You can uh...come find me when you’ve got time?”

“Haha, very funny.” Pietro looked up at his sister from his place on the floor, rubbing his temple. “I thought it’d break.” He had been an idiot, though he’d never admit it. When he first brought up the question of whether he’d be able to break through the glass in the tower while running, she had told him ‘no’ and that ‘Stark had obviously strengthened it’. So, maybe she was right, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try to find out for himself. And maybe, yes, he should have tried hitting it while running rather than using his head as a battering ram, but he never claimed his ideas were good ones.

“I’m going to have a bump the size of a melon.” He grumbled to himself, before looking at his sister, “What’ll I tell the girl tonight?” He’d refer to his date by name, only he’d forgotten it almost immediately after getting her number, instead giving her a generic nickname on his phone. Apparently she thought him calling her ‘Iepuraş‘ was ever so adorable and exotic.
