🐛📢 HEADS UP, URL HAS CHANGED!

All of my creations are being unified under the Moth Monarch name during the course of this year - it's how I'd like to be identified and will be easier to find me. Therefore, the art blog once known as marycapaldi is now under mothmonarch. The bug blog that was under mothmonarch previously is now under bugkingdom.

This might break a few links and doodads here and on other sites linking to my tumblrs, so I'll be tidying up for a bit longer. If you still see anything still broken in a few days, feel free to give me a poke! Thanks for being on this journey with me! 💖

A lot of my chill-out time last month was spent doing coloring pages! Once I got over the initial “have to do it right!” anxiety, I found it incredibly calming. The first was released by @marycapaldi (https://gumroad.com/mothmonarch); the other four by Squishables (https://www.squishable.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=ACTY)! All of them available for free to download and print. :D

There’s a gif of a luna moth, which is a species I have experience with raising. Under the best possible conditions I’ve never had an adult last longer than 10 days - because they can’t eat. Many of the largest moths can’t and therefore have short adult lives. Leps that can eat will live longer, but if you’re expecting to have a pet adult luna moth for 6+ months, you’re going to be very disappointed.

Yeah adults do not last long, but some people enjoy keeping caterpillars and raising them to adulthood. I should edit the post to make it clear that I was including the whole lifespan from egg to adult. Apologies for goofing! 

I love luna moths but they are really rare in these parts :(
