Thank you so much to everyone who took the "Find your Crest" quiz!
The reception was way better than I expected. I had so much fun reading your results in the tags and watching the ranking change almost every time I refreshed the page. For a good portion of the time, Knowledge was leading the quiz, followed by Light and Kindness, though later Purity and Friendship started climbing until they made it into the top spots.
Speaking of stats, as of right now, 120 people have taken the quiz! (though some of them may have taken it more than once) Knowledge is at the top, followed by Purity and Friendship. Looking at the choices, it seems like the most common reaction in a crisis is to analyze the situation first, though there's also a huge part of the group that leads with total honesty about their feelings or by prioritizing group cohesion. Meanwhile, Light, Kindness, Love and Courage are holding a middle ground. At the bottom, Reliability, Hope and Miracles are currently the rarest ones.
Looking back at the scenarios, Reliability probably felt a bit too rigid, maybe? While Hope and Miracles leaned more into blind optimism or waiting for things to work out, which are harder paths to pick under pressure.
Even if some answer choices were obvious, I didn't write the options thinking about the Chosen Children but rather about the archetype each Crest represents. The idea was to answer based on what you genuinely think you would do in that situation, rather than picking the answers that seem to match your favorite character. Though using the quiz however you see fit is the ultimate goal anyway.
A fun fact is that the quiz originally only had 6 questions, and while I was testing it, my result was the Crest of Hope, which surprised me so much because I was convinced I'd end up with Love or Courage. When I expanded the questionnaire to the final 11 question version, I took it again and my result changed to Light.
And the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. I identify quite a lot with Love, Courage, Knowledge and even Reliability, though recently someone I met told me "you brought light to this place." And it's not something I've been told many times, but people do mention to me with some frequency that my presence brings them calm. It made me happy to connect that memory with the quiz result. In the end, self-perception sometimes doesn't fully align with how others experience us.
As for the context of the quiz, the main inspiration was Digimon Adventure with a few details from Time Stranger. My intention was for each question to be a different test and for your choices to reveal which value guides your actions most when everything becomes uncertain or tough. Of course, it's all very simple and generic, and I'm not a psychologist or an expert in human behavior.
The idea came to me a week ago and I finished writing the quiz today at 3 AM. I thought about making it on Google Forms but the scoring system was way more convenient on uQuiz, so I ended up publishing it there.
Anyway, the quiz will stay up, so if in a while you want to take it again to see if your inner compass points toward another Crest, it'll be there.
You can even send it to friends who know absolutely nothing about Digimon just to see which Crest they would have (I'm going to do that with my friends and judge their results 🤣).
I had so much fun this Odaiba Memorial Day. Last year was the first time I celebrated it without even knowing it existed. This year I got to actively participate and had a blast.
I hope you all had a special day too! 😊
