Watashi no Shounen manga

So I just bought (and read) the first 2 volumes of Hitomi Takano's manga "my boy" and I just need some info on a couple things before I try to buy the rest...

1)is this actually a romance between a literal child and a fully grown adult?

When I bought it I thought it was just a friendly relationship. Like Mashuu has a hard life and she become like a mother figure to him and helps him grow etc. But I'm getting romance vibes which I just can't get behind... it's official genre is only drama and I haven't found an answer to this question yet..

2)Is his dad actually neglectful/abusive to him or is he just busy all the time? I mean he made him quit soccer because his brother went out and was late coming back, which isn't even his responsibility, it's the dads job to watch out for his kids he's their PARENT 🙃

3)I know it was hinted at but like is Mashuu even related to his family? I mean he doesn't look like any of them, not the dad mom or the little brother.. I dunno I just found that odd and paired with the page earlier where she thinks about the naming of the little brother as first etc... just weird..
