But like... why say that Mason died?
Couldn't they have just said he and Alex broke up and went their separate ways??

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place | 3.02
Spoilers for season 3 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place
So I just finished watching season 3 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place and I have some thoughts
First of all, even though the original series is way better I still feel kinda sad that this series is now over. One thing that will always piss me off about this show is the fact that season 1 had 21 episodes, but then season 2 had 10 and now season 3 has 4, I miss when shows used to be around about 20 episodes a season.
I can't believe that they killed Mason off, I'm actually pissed about that because now I just keep thinking about how heartbroken Alex would've been when he died. I know that a lot of people don't like Alex and Mason together now because they view their relationship to be toxic, and I agree that their relationship was toxic but I honestly still loved them together, so originally when they revealed that Alex was with Damien I was a little upset, however now that we've met Damian in the final season I actually really like him and ship him and Alex together and wish we could've gotten more of them. However Alex and Mason will always have my heart.
I don't know how I feel about Harper showing up because when they first announced that she was coming back I was happy but with the way that she was in the show, I feel as if her and Alex didn't remain close after the original show ended given that Harper was crying when she asked Alex to give her a call when she got home and that she said that they should hang out sometime. I feel like it would've been good at the end if we saw that Harper had joined the family dinner. I still kinda think that they missed the opportunity in this show to have Harper and Justin be together, like don't get me wrong, I like Giada, but Harper and Giada are very similar and I honestly think it would've been wholesome if Justin did end up with Harper.
Alex was iconic for saying "I don't need my wand. I'm just gonna hit him" and also for how she said "bye" to Penwulf just before jumping through the rift. I love her. Alex and Justin saying "I love you" to each oher was so sweet. They are one of my favourite sibling relationships I've ever seen, so I loved that. When Billie ran back to Justin before leaving I started crying ngl.
I'm confused how Billie's magic was transferred to Winter, like did they explain it and I completely missed it. I also don't like the fact that Billie was able to give up her powers just by breaking her wand, I would think that you would have to do much more than that to lose your powers especially because in the original series they can also use their hands to use magic.
This one's a bit of a nitpick but how did Billie know which key would open the cell door for Silas when there were so many different keys. I also think that it was stupid to bring Penwulf back in the last 5 minutes for them to defeat them that quickly, and having Billie try to talk him into being a good guy was stupid because some people just don't have a good side and I personally didn't think that Billie would think that about Penwulf.
I feel like I actually had a lot more thoughts while watching the final season that I can't think of right now, so for now this is it
Overall, I personally think this season wasn't the best and this is coming from someone who would usually read a post like this of someone talking about a show I like and think that they're nitpicking at every little detail but there's just so much of this season that I don't like or doesn't make sense to me. Not to mention the fact that I kinda feel like they ruined my childhood, they killed Mason off very young, made Alex a single mother very young, ruined her friendship with Harper, who knows what happened with Zeke? and I feel like they probably aren't close to Max.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go rewatch Wizards of Waverly Place and completely ignore what they did with Wizards Beyond Waverly Place because in my mind none of that happened
