her conscious was not pleased with her; but it was quietest thought among a flurry of worse ones clouding her mind and weighing her heart. ari had not slept wednesday or thursday nights, following the horrifying events of the seance. in fact, she had not been home since the 15th at all, instead giving a fake story about a sorority sister in need a couple of states over, and bailing to hide out between the homes of the other witches. now, her fear was controlling her - she had little doubt, if any, that mason was a hunter. after seeing what happened to cole... ariadne couldn’t fathom another second under the roof with him, innocent or not.
so there she was, having slipped in shortly after peter left for his commute to harvard where he worked, throwing clothes and trinkets into bags on the bed. did she want to leave peter? honestly... he was hardly a thought on her mind, as cruel as it was. ariadne was set on getting out, saving her friends, and staying alive - so when she heard the telltale creak of floorboards and a shadow in the entrance, she whirled around clutching a floral dress with a startled look.
“mason,” she stated, heart dropping, and every bit of her body language screamed uncomfortable. “you are.... still here.”
