Lima Heights is putting on the annual Halloween Masquerade! It will occur the night of October 31st throughout certain parts of campus. The following is everything you’ll need to know, so pay attention. (Everything is IC information except for under OOC)
RULES
Attendance is mandatory for all students.
All attendees must wear a costume complete with mask.
YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE WHAT YOUR COSTUME IS.
No alcohol, no drugs.
Marks are on hold for the party, however, the heads and guards will be around so don’t be ridiculous about it.
ACTIVITIES
Dancing - Great Hall
Escape Room - First floor classrooms (4 rooms designated for escape rooms)
Thriller Dance Instruction and performance - Dance Studio
Punkin’ Chunkin’ - Court yard
Haunted Maze - Hedge Maze (like a haunted corn maze with characters, spooky music and guards dressed in costume chasing people. They cannot touch or harm students)
Mad Science Lab - Cafeteria (snacks themes as science and laboratory - eyeballs that are grapes in jello, intestines that are spaghetti noddles, etc)
Bobbing for Apples - Court Yard
‘Ghost in the Graveyard’ Game - Court Yard
Mini-Scavenger Hunt - Throughout party (more to come)
Zombie’s Kiss - Everyone Plays (more to come)
COSTUME CONTEST
There will be a costume contest BUT it is slightly different from what you’d expect. The object of this contest is to try to be as convincing as your costume character as you can. Everyone will vote for the top 3 costumes - again, the voting criteria being that you had NO IDEA WHO THEY WERE. We’re looking for the best actors here and the top 3 winners will win 200 points each!
OOC INFO
Alright, so here’s how it’s going to work - create a side blog for each of your characters’ costumes. THE URL SHOULD HAVE NOTHING IN IT about your actual character. Remember, you don’t want people to know who your character is. This goes for IC and OOC. PLEASE, don’t break the game. It’s not fun if you break the game.
On your sideblog for your character’s costume, post a photo of your costume including the mask. Once the blog is built and photo is posted, add the URL and costume to THIS GOOGLE DOC. Also, posting throughout the party will be done all F2F. There will be no online or tumblr based starters.
Ok, this part gets a little confusing. IC - this event only happens on Saturday October 31st. BUT, OOC we’ll be ‘freezing time’ to allow this event to be played out Thursday-Sunday. Again, it’s all happening IC on Saturday, so avoid “thursday, friday or sunday plans” and let them kinda fade to black. Please keep the dash strictly Masquerade during the whole event (thurs-sun).
The other part of the “don’t think about it” part of this is we need to kinda fake things about our characters to avoid being discovered. For example, there will be no talk of Frankie’s epilepsy due to that making it obvious who it is - this will be expected of everyone. So just kinda suspend your disbelief, please. This goes for physical attributes, accents, etc.
Any triggering plots or plots involving a lot of people need to be approved.
If your character participates they will receive 50 points. Participation will include at least some decent activity (just a post or one/two replies will not count.) Gimme at least one thread and I’ll count it.
VOTING - once we get closer to the event we’ll let you know how this will go but it will be dependent on NOT LETTING ANYONE KNOW (Ic or OOC) WHAT COSTUME YOUR CHARACTER HAS. Please, again, Don’t Break the Game. These things are only fun when the rules are followed. Vote per character, however, even if your character doesn’t interact with them. So, you can use some OOC knowledge for voting ONLY.

♛♛♛ the king walks in wearing the heaviest, flashiest cape to match his boyfriend’s blue skirt. he feels the pressure of being named best dressed, so even if he may not be this time around (he’s humble, he knows it can’t be all about him although it should be), he promises to steal the looks for most part of the night. his chest is open to reveal all his tattoos and a delicate silver chain draped around it to match. ♛♛♛
Alright during the masquerade there are two sub games happening. This post will detail both. Please read carefully!
Scavenger Hunt: Optional
During the event your characters may choose to try and complete one of the two scavenger hunt cards. There is a sexual/kinky card and a totally non-sexual card. It’s your choice if you want to play and which card to play. Anyone who completes their card gets 100 points and a pumpkin full of candy! To complete each task you simply have to do the thing on dash. No fully head cannons allowed, but things certainly do not have to be fully written out in para form either. Pictures with descriptions and headcannons attached are acceptable. Just make sure there’s something on dash. This is mostly for fun and to give characters something to be doing through out the event and starter fodder. Please do not just blast the dash with “I need to do xyz task”, be creative, and try to do the task without the person knowing you’re doing the task for the hunt. Have fun!
Zombie’s Kiss- Mandatory!
This is happening at the masquerade and is not optional. Basically, several people will be chosen to be “infected” with a zombie curse. If the masquerade ends and they still have the curse, they will have to jump into the icy cold piranha pond naked and dive to the bottom to retrieve a “healing potion.” But getting rid of the curse isn’t so hard, all you have to do to avoid this wet, cold fate, is kiss someone. The curse is transferred via kiss, but could always come back to get you later in the night. Careful who you hook up with!
This starts as soon as the masquerade starts. The Patient Zero’s will be notified by Mack and J. They will then have to try and get rid of the curse by kissing another character on dash. This could be a kiss on the hand or a full on make out session. Once they kiss someone they are no longer infected, but can become reinfected later. No tag backs- (meaning you cannot kiss the person who just kissed you. You can later in the night if you were to become reinfected however) When the masquerade ends Sunday at 9pm CST whoever is infected are the ‘losers’ and will have to jump into the pond.
When you GET RID of your infection, you need to add your costume name to the spreadsheet. DO NOT ADD YOUR COSTUME NAME UNTIL YOU HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE INFECTION! Also, please make sure the person you infect knows they’ve been infected. Make sure you do not put your actual character’s name!!!! Just your costume’s name.
I tinted my hair brown for this damn party. Second photo is the one I took before I tinted my hair... Now I’m stuck looking like @sammythedominant for a few days until this tint washes out completely.

♚♚♚ expecting a party not too far from the beginning of the year, aria got her dress back in berlin. it was not as puffy as she wanted it to be, so as soon as she could, she grabbed more tulle and added more colors to an originally nude and pink dress. her hair is freshly dyed a light shade of pink to match, and decided to stun by a natural makeup with flowers pressed to her face as a mask. not pictured it’s a delicate unicorn necklace in silver, and pastel nails to match. ♚♚♚
✿✿✿ usually going for bolder, darker colors, ella decided for a pastel this time around. it was kind of a shuffle between this dress and a white one, but she wasn’t ready for the big leap. she found her jewelry back in berlin, as well as the dress. as a third year, ella knows what to expect from gallagher events, so she prepared herself accordingly. the mask was a last minute item, but it works. her hair is long and messy as usual, but decided to pin it at the back for a change. ✿✿✿
