MASTECTOMY BRA FITTING

What's the difference between a "mastectomy" bra and a regular bra? Does it make room for the "adopted" sister? Is it a bra for "fraternal twins"? Does it have a special pouch for a "chicken cutlet"? I don't want a mastectomy bra; I want to wear the French and Italian bras I've spent years investing in, the sexy transparent lace, cleavage enhancing ones, not a grandma bra! I went to Just For You Two in East Hanover, NJ for my mastectomy bra fitting. Todd, a videographer from The Wall Street Journal accompanied me to record my venture for their feature article: The Double Mastectomy Rebellion. Carol and Andrea warmly welcomed me and kept me engaged so I didn't run out the back door in a blaze. I asked for lace, I just wanted lace! They tried to accommodate me but nothing compares to La Perla, Intimissimi, Simone Perele, Chantelle or Agent Provocateur. I walked away with my head down; a couple of decent T-shirt bras and a set of fake nipples. Talk about humbling: fake nipples.

ANAONO SEXY LACE

"Sexy" is not a word I've felt aligned with since my mastectomy. I feel like a stranger to the upper left quadrant of my body - with a boob that is an odd shape - for now, until reconstruction. The seductive bra and panty sets I've spent years investing in are now neatly packed away, hoping to make their debut on my new breasts once they've been molded to a presentable shape; I'm not even sure my updated set will be able to endure the underwires.
