Today’s villain is the Master Control Program from Tron
In a computer hard drive, the points (like on MCP) don't actually touch, they were kept separate by magnets - one set of magnets pulled them as close as they could, and the other set kept the two points apart, that's how it spins so fast - and when a hard drive "crashed", the points actually touched and, because it was spinning so fast, it destroyed the discs when the points hit and skipped off of each other
