Master Shifu Headcanons

Wants so badly to make it up to Tigress for how he treated her in her childhood

Has secretly commemorated Tigress’ Gotcha Day since the day he brought her home from the Bao Gu Orphanage

Is trying to make up for his treatment to the rest of the Furious Five as well; that’s why we see a change in his demeanor around them in the other movies

Has secretly wanted to make Tigress the next Grand Master of the Jade Palace (istg this better happen soon)

Will make tea for Tigress during a storm at night and will stay with her until it’s over

Plays his flute when he knows Tigress is listening (in her childhood and adulthood)

His flute used to comfort/soothe her as a kid

It hits him years later that he almost lost not just his students, but his daughter during the battle with Tai Lung; it devastates him

Wants so badly to call himself Tigress’ father, but he feels like he no longer has the right to

A couple years after Po joins them, he realizes the weight of Tigress punching ironwood trees for so long when he catches her doing it; when he does, it hits him that he caused it, especially after seeing tiny child-sized paw dents with long-dried bl00d in them on the metal bark

Tigress and Shifu are trying to heal their relationship through little reassurances, unlearning old behaviors and habits, and more

Has become a little more protective of Tigress during their healing process
