It was once more late at night when Rose slipped into their room. She threw the heavy bag on the floor with a thud, a smirk on her lips.
"Terezi? Are you awake?"
She crept further inside, watching Terezi as she lied on the bed.
Karkat sighed, shuffling through his papers with mild disinterest. He figured this would be one of the quieter places in the school, perhaps a place where no one would bother him. And so he had descended here, back leaning against the trunk of a massive tree, headphones brought over his ears as his iPhone blasted one of his favorite artists.
He might as well finish all of his homework, so that he would have the rest of the night clear. Or, at least, that was his original plan. And also why he had hauled along his massive, over-stuffed backpack. Of course, only about half of its contents were for school. The other half were mostly personal projects and... other recreational things. One of which being a laptop.
Yes, maybe that's why his backpack was so heavy.
Oh well.
It was late at night. Very late. Late as balls.
Rose stared at the ceiling, running metaphors and wordplay in her head, floating attempts at writing disguised as attempts to fall asleep. Or perhaps it was the other way around.
She looked out the window, the full moon shining bright on her face, her mind going blank, words slipping away like dry sand out of her fingers in the river shore of their summer house. Only one thought remained on her mind.
She needed to ask Kanaya for some fucking curtains.
She sat up, looking towards Terezi's side of the room.
There was no way she was still awake. Rose looked at the floor, sighing heavily, and took out her cellphone to check the time. 3:14. Dammit.
She had already been plagued with nightmares all night, but right now, that would be preferable to not sleeping at all.
She got up, wearing her blanket as a cape, and walked over to the other side of the room, standing uneasily by Terezi's bed. She leaned down and shook her a little.
"...Terezi?"
Rose ==> Go On An Adventure With Terezi
Rose smiled deviously, hovering outside her dorm room. She felt like repaying Terezi for...Being such a good friend. She leaned against the wall, frowning a little, a small rush of nervousness rushing over her. What if she said no? Or found the idea ridiculous.
Rose shook her head and looked around, making sure no one saw her in this moment of doubt.
There was no point in staggering.
She opened the door and walked in, smiling.
"Hey, Terezi, would you like to go on an adventure?"
Rose stared at the note in her hand.
Terezi's handwriting was surprisingly legible.
She curled into herself, hugging her knees. She felt like an idiot. She wouldn't be surprised if Terezi hated her.
She had a good thing starting and messed it up. As usual. But moping wouldn't help her.
Taking in a deep breath, she typed in the number on her cellphone and pressed dial. Immediately, a wave of panic rushed over her.
Jake ==> Explore Film Selection
Well things were looking dull for boy english and that was a thing he could simply not stand to bare. It was right around high noon when the chestnut haired desperado moseyed on down the staircase and into the underclass dormitory hall for a second time. He'd already made himself a couple of interesting chums from his lower classes and he figured it was right around that time when he got to tying himself down in the younger community as a name to be reckoned with. But first, he would have to see how good the selection of movies was down in their lounge.
With jakes height it was easy enough for him to blend in amongst the younger years attending and he slipped over to the case entirely like a ghost, undetectable to the naked eye. He thought he was far too clever for being shorter than average in this moment, even though he knew he would come to regret his height in years to come. Things usually ran that way.
His trek was half complete. Jake came to a stop in front of a wobbly white bookshelf labeled in bold old english microsoft word font "Underclassmen Approved Films". This of course was code for everything the upperclassmen didn't want to watch and had tossed down the steps in an attempt to discard the films forever.
There was an arrangement of dvds and vhs tapes, with the two largest sections of films consisting of educational documentaries and chick flicks. Jake was no more horrified than anyone might be if they saw a videotape of their own murder being played out in front of them, and began to mumble to himself. " These poor bastards- how can this happen to them? What ghastly things did they do in their past lives to deserve this hell?"
