Danganronpa AU were Hajime and Izuru are the despair twins, tho.
At first, Hajime didn’t actually want to drown the whole world in despair- he just wanted to destroy Hope’s Peak Academy and all it’s students, because he’s totally consumed by bitterness over not having his own talent. He wishes to destroy all talent. However, the further he goes into the plan, the more he starts to cause suffering for suffering’s sake, and the more he starts to enjoy inflicting pain on others.
Izuru meanwhile is kind of the same as in canon- bored of everything, and willing to go as far as to cause killings and war if it makes things more exciting. He follows Hajime’s orders most of the time, sometimes making adjusments to make them more practical or easier to execute, since he’s far smarter than his older brother. In the end, thanks to his many abilities, the two of them easily caused The Tragedy.
With the few survivors (Izuru’s classmates) that were left, Hajime decided to play another killing game, just to extend the suffering of the last ultimates (save for his precious remnants, who would be the class 78th in this AU). After some discussion of how they should do it, Hajime convinced Izuru to pretend to be just another student, so that they’d have an intern in case of any escape attempts. After all, any talentless idiot can play announcements and watch some cameras, but whoever was in the field needed to make sure they stayed alive! And how could poor, poor Hajime defend himself if one of the others tried to attack him?
Of course, in the end, this ended up being a trap, and Hajime killed Izuru over a minor transgresion. After all, he sought to destroy all talent, didn’t he? And who could be more talented than his little brother?
