S1xS2 Promo Shoots: 'Masters of Sex'

I find it interesting that Virginia is sitting rather close to Masters in the season one promo, whereas in season two's promo, he looks uncomfortably "put" next to Libby and she stands by herself. Interesting, considering Masters and Johnson grew so much closer in season two and he and Libby further apart. Barton being far from Margaret makes sense given what he said at the end of the finale of their mystery relationship currently. Should I even mention Ethan? No, didn't think so. Austin....well, he doesn't have a scene with Margaret Scully in season two, so that's interesting why they put him there smiling so happily up at her as if their affair happened this season and not last. Nevertheless, I hope to see them all together or interacting more in season three and I want to see that seasons promo shoot ALREADY.

A theory

So I read a spoiler for Masters of Sex  (Dont Click if you dont want spoilers)

"Two characters will leave the show, according to TV Line. No word on who those characters will be, but they are definitely recurring characters.

One major character will have a very close run in with death, TV Line reported. within the first two episodes of the season”

Obviously the near death experience within the first two eps was Barton Scully. Now with the two characters. I have a feeling one will be Dr. Lillian DePaul. Although its inevitable with stage 4 cancer. Don’t get me wrong, I love her so much! Even my favorite character in the show. Which saddens me a bit to think about this.

My heart leaped when she had a black eye. She never revealed the real cause of it, even made an excuse with a medicine cabinet. But what I noticed with Dr. DePaul is she doesn’t want to look weak or vulnerable, thus making me think that the true nature is cancer. And we know that stage 4 cancer patients are sadly numbered. She even said she wasted three months with her proposal. I think this season will be her final. 

They will do a time jump (A mad men) in the middle of the season. I think by the time Dr. DePaul will have lost the battle. It’s a time jump. I don’t know how far, but with Dr. DePaul’s dialogue she knows she doesn’t have that much time left. I do hope she’ll be alive by then, or maybe her health is deteriorating. I know Virginia can’t handle ‘the study’ and also her trying to help Dr. DePaul’s cause. I think its convenient for the story line to continue without her having too much on her plate (I say this with a heavy heart)

We have to deal with the fact that she’s leaving. Maybe not in season 2. But with the writers, her death is a ticking time bomb. I srsly hate the writers for writing in her cancer. Even if she’s a reoccurring character, every time she’s in an episode it just makes it worthwhile to watch.  It’s exciting to understand this character that’s aloof in the world she lives in. I literally fall in love with her in every episode she’s in.
