not a day goes by without me being obsessed with sweet pool...
the way the ending was left open to interpretation and the true ending was not about youji and tetsuo finding each other again, but about youji having enough empathy for himself and what he went through to realize he needed to acknowledge all that pain and take a step FORWARD. that the outcome of letting go of all this abuse and suffering was not important —what's important is the hope that you can heal. it doesn't matter if tetsuo and youji find each other again. what matters is them being able to grow and heal and be better persons, not bound by the abuse they went through or their circumstances, but having hope and faith in their ability to heal and have a future as humans.
