OTP Meme: Mateco

Saw this meme making the rounds for TV ships, and I decided to do it for some of my RP ships too. First up is Mateco because lbr I am a parent who plays favorites with her children and they will always be my favorite. <3 No shame, right @everlastingbastille​?

1. Who is the early bird?/Who is the night owl? Mat is the early bird, Nico is the night owl. Because Nico stays up worrying all the time over everything, and Mat has to soothe him to sleep because he’s keeping him up!

2. Who is the big spoon?/Who is the little spoon? Depends on the day. Mat is probably the little spoon more often, though.

3. Who hogs the covers?/Who loves to cuddle? Mat is all about cuddling! And Nico totally hogs the covers. Not that Nico doesn’t like cuddling too, but it’s practically a compulsion for Mat.

4. Who wakes the other one up with kisses? Mat. 1000% Mat. And then he doesn’t let Nico get out of bed.

5. Who usually has nightmares? Mat :(

6. Who would have really deep emotional thoughts at the middle of the night?/Who would have them in the middle of the day? Mat could have them at any time, really. He just needs the right trigger. Nico would probably have them at night, though. Boy gets lost in his thoughts too easily when he doesn’t have distractions.

7. Who sweats the small stuff? Nico. Mat doesn’t even notice the small stuff if Nico isn’t freaking out over it.

8. Who sleeps in their underwear (or naked)?/Who sleeps in their pajamas? Mat and Nico, respectively. Mat usually sleeps naked but he sleeps in sweatpants or something similar to make Nico feel more comfortable.

9. Who makes the coffee (or tea)? Nico.

10. Who likes sweet/who likes sour? They both like sweet because they are cotton candy incarnate, obviously.

11. Who likes horror movies/who likes romance movies? Mat loves movies in general, but given the choice, he’d probably choose romance. Nico likes horror movies more even though they scare tf out of him, but Mat has been slowly introducing him to his favorite romcoms with a fair amount of success. Also, Mat is starting to like horror more and more because Nico getting scared gives him more reasons to cuddle his boyfriend.

12. Who is smol/who is tol? Mat is smol, Nico is tol. But Nico doesn’t look it because he has terrible posture.

13. Who is considered the scaredy cat? Nicooooooo

14. Who kills the spiders? No one. Mat would leave them alone, but Nico is scared of them so Mat takes them outside instead.

15. Who is scared of the dark? Hmmmm. Surprisingly, Mat. Not scared scared, but his demons tend to come after him more in the dark, especially when he’s alone.

16. Who is scared of thunderstorms? Um. Nico is probably startled by them, but I don’t think either are actually scared.

17. Who works/Who stays at home? They both work!

18. Who is a cat person/Who is a dog person? Mat has never had a pet but he fancies himself a cat person. Nico is definitely a dog person, though.

19. Who loves to call the other one cute names? Maaaaat. All the pet names. <3

20. Who is dominant/who is submissive? Ooooooh tricky. Mat has the more dominant personality but Nico is really the one in control of the relationship, even if he doesn’t realize it. And they both know how to make each other beg. ;)

21. Who has an obsession (over anything)? Nico, I think. I don’t know about an obsession, but at least a strong passion for travel and art.

22. Who goes all out for Valentine’s Day? Definitely Nico. XD

23. Who asks who out on the first date? Mat! It was such a cute first date, too. <3

24. Who is the talker/who is the listener? Mat makes sure they both get their chance to talk and to listen. But he’s probably more of the talker.

25. Who wears the other one’s clothes? MAT. All the time. And in public, just to make Nico squirm.

26. Who likes to eat healthy/who loves junk food? Mat will eat whatever he can get, really, but he tries to eat healthy. Nico doesn’t pay quite as much attention to his own diet, but he makes sure Mat has food, period.

27. Who takes a long shower/who sings in the shower? Mat in both cases. He’ll take even longer if Nico is in the shower with him, though.

28. Who is the book worm? Mat likes to read, but Nico is definitely more of a bookworm.

29. Who is the better cook? Nico! Mat can make pasta and eggs and that is about it.

30. Who likes long walks on the beach? What beach? XD But, Nico.

31. Who is more affectionate? Mat, definitely. Especially in public. Nico opens up more in private but he still struggles to share his feelings until Mat gets him started.

32. Who likes to have really long (deep) conversation? Mat. He can do small talk like the best, but his preference is always for meaningful connections.

33. Who would wear “not guilty” t-shirt/who would wear “sin” t-shirt? Not guilty = Nico, Sin = Mat

34. Who would wear “if lost return to…” t-shirt/who would wear “I am…” t-shirt? “If lost” Mat, “I am” Nico

35. Who goes overboard on holidays? Nico! Always has to be an overachiever.

36. Who is the social media addict? I don’t think either of them are? Mat would be more likely to at least be active, though.

37. Height difference or age difference? Mat is older by about a year and a half, and Nico is taller by 2 inches.

38. Who likes to stargaze? Mat

39. Who buys cereal for the prize inside? Nico

40. Who is the fun parent/who is the responsible parent? Mat is the fun parent, Nico is the responsible parent.

41. Who cries during sad movies? Both of them. But it’s taken Nico a while to be comfortable enough to do it.

42. Who is the neat freak? Neither of them. Mat isn’t used to having much of a mess to clean up after, though.

43. Who wins the stuffed animals at the carnival for the other one? Depends on the game! I imagine Nico is better at games of strength, but Mat has better hand-eye coordination.

44. Who is active/who is lazy? Neither are lazy, but Mat is a bit more active.

45. Who is more likely to get drunk? Mat is more likely to get drunk because he wants to. However, if they were both going to drink, Nico will get drunk more easily because he doesn’t drink much in the first place. Lightweight~

46. Who has the longer food order? Nico

47. Who has the more complex coffee order? DEFINITELY Nico! Mat usually just gets plain coffee from McDonald’s, and Nico thinks he’s crazy for it.

48. Who loses stuff? Nico is constantly losing stuff. Or just leaving it at work/at school/at Mat’s apartment.

49. Who is the driver/who is the passenger? Nico is the driver. Mat doesn’t even own a bicycle, let alone have a driver’s license.

50. Who is the hopeless romantic? Maaaaaaaat ugh boy doesn’t know how to do these things in moderation

素材色彩研究会MATECO連続セミナー「都市・まちの素材と色彩10」開催のお知らせ

MATECO連続セミナー第十回はゲストに建築家の松島潤平氏を、聞き手に建築家の森田一弥氏をお迎えし、「ノスタルジー・リセッティング」というテーマでお話頂きます。連続セミナー、お陰様で節目の第十回を迎えることとなりました。この「都市・まちの素材と色彩」というテーマは一旦これで区切りと致しますので、今回が最終回となります。

今回のテーマ「ノスタルジー・リセッティング」は、松島氏のブログに端を発しています。何かのきっかけで始めて読んだとき、実は受け入れるのが難しい、と感じました。なぜリセッティングが必要なのか、ということがずっと気にかかっており、その後も松島氏の作品や言説を追いかけて行く中で、直接お話を伺う機会もあり、少しずつその意図するところを理解できるようになってきました。

ノスタルジーとは懐かしい感情を指すもので、実態が明確な訳ではありません。時間の経過、あるいは空間的に離れた場所を想像し、私達の感情がつくりだす「価値」の一つと捉えることができます。

価値はこうして様々なものに宿ります。しかしながらそれはともすると懐古趣味、等と揶揄の対象となることもあり、ものや空間をつくる立場に居る・目指す私達にとっては創作の根源となる原風景、あるいは時に切り捨てられない条件であると同時に、捕らわれ過ぎてしまうと次の時代のノスタルジーとなり得るものの可能性に気づくことができないかも知れない、という懸念が生じます。

現代建築家としてノスタルジーのリセットの仕方を探求されている松島氏の聞き手には、同じく建築家の森田一弥氏をお招き致します。「つなぐこと・ながもちすること・いきること」を通して建築家の役割や空間のあり方を実践されている森田氏のご活動も紹介頂きながら、素材や色彩が都市・まちに与える様々な事象について、お話を伺います。
