Your Power and Control rep stands up to hate crime with Jeremy Corbyn!

This week we went to Finsbury Park Mosque for a very important meeting about hate crime. Leaders from Islington council, faith and LGBT communities took part. We were very proud to be invited to speak up too. And stand up to hate crime!

In 2014 Respond and experts by experience wrote a report called ‘London Calling’. It said that Islington Council was not good at helping people who reported a hate crime.

Since then we have worked with the council to make reporting it easier. But we have found out that there are still problems with what people know about hate crime.

So we are going to spread the word about hate crime and tell more people how to spot it. We are working with the council and the police to make reporting it easy. And we are going to speak up about mate crime. A crime that happens a lot to people with learning disabilities.
