most of the time i'm too busy reading, thinking, asking questions, to notice what i'm doing to my books in the process. underlining, vertical-double-lining, post-it-note-ing, dog-earing, marginal-scribbling -- it's all fair game in the attempt to get at the text and its meanings. this exhibition, entitled (what else?) "dog ear", reminded me that sometimes the coolest part about reading is stopping to witness the material signs and remains of the reading process. whither e-reader?
