I had a patented first year break down, but I'm all good now and ready to post again! :) I just finished a tough course in differential geometry and should be posting notes soon! The thing I didn't like about it was that we focused on embedded manifolds, but not much about manifolds themselves. We used the whole "level set of a smooth function" definition, and Idk how it sat with me. I might also do Complex analysis because I finished that too, and it was so cool!
Oh, boy :/ I’m sorry you had a rough time but I’m glad you’re better now! :D
I’m trying to say something encouraging about manifolds but, I gotta admit, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything more complex than the integrals we use in physical chemistry and that’s not really all that thought challenging and inspiring but, oh well. It’s the choice I made.
I love topology, though. I’m not a big fan of analysis of any kind, after six years at a school for gifted children (and all that c**p), they managed to ruin analysis, algebra, and all physics except optics for me. University has been good to me on the physics front but, since my field of study is Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology, there’s not a lot of interesting math involved.
