Try learning about projective geometry! It's like ordinary geometry, except the parallel-line axiom is considered false. It gets complicated enough that you can create all of algebraic and differential topology; in 3-D anyway, from it. WARPED SPACES!
I don't know that last part sounds like a lot of work, and i feel like I already know most of the interesting stuff about the first part. Feel free to give me mindblowingly counterintuitive tidbits though.
