Cousins
The early morning is spent with the littles. I love how different little Henrietta (and really all the grandchildren) looks from Bertille. I enjoy playing eye spy to which of Bertille's genes have gotten passed on and how the Gen 2 spouses have influenced the genetics.
Meanwhile Jette tutors Mathilde. (Hopefully in reading and not Math!)
With the rest of the family situated for the day, it's Ulrich's turn to go to the market with his Grandmother.
Ulrich prepares a simple stew for the household + Katherine. Bertille believes every one of her grandchildren should know basic skills such as cleaning and cooking, even if Ulrich is the heir.
Bertille and Jette arrive home late, so they dine together quietly as the younger girls are already in bed.
The Walch family. Consisting of matriarch Bertille, her grandchildren from her son, Ulrich and Jette Walch, and her grandchildren of her daughter, Mathilde and Henrietta Euler. After a tragic boating accident, both of Bertille's children and their spouses perished. She's been left to raise her four grandchildren and build a market buisness.
Mathilde Euler.
Henrietta Euler
While the senor Walch ladies worked the market, Ulrich spends the day cleaning their home and watching his younger cousins. Mathilde spends some time with one of the Fieldse triplets, Katherine. (they grew up!)
Cousin Mathilde does not shy away from sensitive topics.
