The Black Grimoire Text 3

THE BLACK TEMPLE AND THE SATANIC RITUAL TOOLS

Here in Text 3 of THE BLACK GRIMOIRE we examine The Black Temple and the Ritual Magickal Implements that shall be required by the Black Magician in performing the practices held within the following texts. Some of the Workings within this Grimoire require Implements and items which are specific to those Workings, some Ritual Paraphernalia may only be used in a small number of Black Arts and Rites . . . these shall be dealt with in the Preliminary Notes that shall be given before all Working Texts within THE BLACK GRIMOIRE. Here now I seek to concentrate on those Ritual Tools that are utilized most frequently within the Black Arts and the concept of The Black Temple which is the Magickal Working area summoned forth by the Black Magician prior to all Satanic Workings in this Grimoire. The Ritual Working area may be any room which is available to the Practitioner and quite often must double up for another purpose such as a living room or bedroom, this is perfectly acceptable but the item chosen to be used as the Ritual Altar should always be the same with the exception of outdoor Workings. The Black Temple is not the room you shall be practicing in rather it is what the room you shall be practicing in shall be transformed into through the Opening Workings contained within this Grimoire. It is the Ritual Sanctum which is Magickally Evoked as a realm apart being partly in our plane and partly in the watery realms of Acheron that reside just outside of the Kingdom of Hell . . . it is a mutual Realm of Communion where Satanic Initiate and Demonic Spirit can unite their mutual powers to bring about the manifestation of that desired. It acts as a fortification against outside influences and transforms the working area into a sphere bound only for those of the Infernal Kindred be they of flesh or Demonic Spirit. The Summoning of The Black Temple shall be detailed in Text 11 of THE BLACK GRIMOIRE, for now it is suffice to say that this Infernal Magickal Realm is of great importance and opens a Gate to the currents which flow from the Kingdom of Hell through the Demonic tides of Acheron . . . that Gate is opened through the Satanic Altar by the Awakening of The Demonic Pentacle. Now we must examine the Ritual Implements which are required to grace that Altar and be used to execute the Satanic Workings within this Magickal Tome. THE SATANIC RITUAL TOOLS THE ALTAR CLOTH The Altar covering which should be formed of Black or Red material and may have the Inverted Pentagram embroidered upon it if the the Initiate so wishes. THE DEMONIC PENTACLE The central point of power upon the Satanic Altar, the Pentacle should be forged from wood and painted Black, upon its surface either the Inverted Pentagram, the Inverted Cross or the Cross of Sulfur should be painted in either Red, White or Gold. THE HANDWRITTEN GRIMOIRE It has long been tradition in most Occult Circles (particularly those practicing Witchcraft or the Black Arts) to keep a hand written copy of the Grimoire one is working from. While some just photocopy or print leaves from the original it must be said the Grimoire copied by hand becomes an Amulet of Infernal Power to the Satanic Initiate. THE BLACK MIRROR An important Ritual Implement utilized for Scrying and Demonic Communion, this Tool should either be of Obsidian or glass painted Black. THE SCRYING TOOL A Scrying Tool should be utilized upon the Altar, this may be the Black Mirror, a Crystal Sphere, a Candle for Pyromancy or any Implement that the Initiate prefers to used for such purposes. THE OIL/INCENSE BURNER For the burning of Ritual aromatics an Oil or Incense Burner should also be present upon the Altar, my personal preference is the Oil Burner as it is less time consuming that the use of Charcoal discs and loose Incense. ALTAR CANDLE HOLDERS Candle Holders for use upon the Altar are necessary, at least three shall be required (two for lighting and one for the Devotional Candle of Satan) a fourth will also be required to hold the Candle used in Petitioning the Demon. ILLUMINATING CANDLE HOLDERS Candle Holders and/or Sconces will also be required for illumination of the Working area, Sconces are the preferable choice as they cast the Candle light down onto the area and enable clear reading of Ritual Texts. CANDLE SNUFFER A Candle Snuffer shall be upon the Altar for the extinguishing of Candles at the close of Rites. THE PENDULUM A Crystal Pendulum suspended from a chain shall also be a useful Implement upon the Altar, if possible this should be of Obsidian or Jet although Clear Quartz will suffice. DIVINATION TOOL While not absolutely necessary the Practitioner may also elect to have a Tool of Divination at hand upon the Altar such as a Tarot Deck or Rune Stones, these are more often required than one may anticipate. METAL ALTAR DISH/BOWL A Metal Altar Dish shall be required for the burning of certain parchments etc during Black Magick Workings. WOODEN ALTAR BOWLS It is also useful to have a few small Wooden Altar Bowls for use in certain Rites, these can be used  CANDLES Candles must be regularly stocked for use in Rites, while Black or Red are the usual colour preferences in Satanic Workings Ivory may also be employed . . . White, Blue nor Purple should ever be utilized. THE RITUAL ROBE The Traditional Ritual Robe of the Theistic Satanist is Black and hooded, there are those who employ the use of Red also which is perfectly acceptable but Black should always be used if possible. PARCHMENT PAPER Parchment paper will be required for the constructing of Oaths, Evocations and other Ritual Texts . . . also used for The Parchment Scrolls Of Gestation,  this does not need to be genuine animal parchment as suggested by some Occultists. WRITING TOOL A Writing Implement shall be needed within Workings to inscribe Magickal Scripts, Oaths etc . . . whether this be a quill or ordinary pen it is important that it is used only for Magickal purposes. BLACK CORD Black Cord should also be kept by the Satanic Initiate, although not as important as some of the earlier described Tools it shall be required at some point by most Practitioners. THE VESSEL OF THE BLACK MAGICIAN A small wooden box should be obtained by the Practitioner also, this is a personal Tool of great importance and shall contain Magickal items which are sacrosanct to the Satanic Initiate such as the Oath sworn at their Initiation. INCENSES/OILS  The Initiate of the Black Arts will also need to in possession at all times with either Aromatic Natural Oil or Incense depending on whether they are using an Oil Burner or Incense Burner. Suitable aromatic for use in Satanic Workings are Sandalwood, Sulfur, Pine, Cinnamon, Oak or Mint. CUTTING TOOL A small cutting tool or knife will also be required, this is useful for blood letting and for the cutting of cords or making incisions into Mandragora Roots in certain Workings. JOURNAL One final Implement that should be kept at hand during Ritual practices (particularly those using Divination or Scrying) is a Journal to record immediate messages, visions or automatic dictations which may occur during Workings.
