So I am bored so I decided look up weird animal mating facts

1. Female Giraffes will urinated in the Male’s mouth to determine if the female is a good mate for the male. 

2.When the male honey bee mates with the queen he gives up his penis and his life as well... 

3. Argentine Lake ducks have very long penises, and they lasso the escaping females to attempt to mate with them. 

4. The male hippo positions himself in the view of a potential female mate and proceeds to defecate and urinate simultaneously in hope he catches the eye of a female hippo. 

5. White Fronted Parrots will kiss locking their beaks and playing with each other’s tongues, as the kissing session drags on, the male will eventually vomit into the female’s mouth.. well isn’t that attractive... 

6. When a male anglerfish mates he bites her releasing an enzyme and then he dwindles into nothing but a small parasitic lump of sperm attached to her. 

7. Flatworms have both male and female sex organ, the male organ turns out to be two-dagger-like penises that they use to hunt as as mate. Two flatworms fight to stab eachother while avoiding getting stabbed, The loser who gets stab will be the one to absorb the sperm through their skin.

Unlike most mammals, female cats can still get pregnant even if they already are pregnant. The cat’s body sometimes produce eggs even when pregnant and if she was to mate with another cat during the pregnancy she can get pregnant with another litter of kittens and they can be born the same time as the first litter and the weird thing is that these kittens born can be different ages even though they are born together.

This one is pretty adorable if you ask me, so did you know male painted turtles will use their long claws to tickle the females. If she lets him tickle her, they are mates.

Did you know? Size does matter well if you were a Galapagos tortoise. Since male Galapagos tortoise will compete to see who is taller! They do this by stretching their necks out so high while opening their mouths and will stand on their legs. The winner gets the female tortoise. While the loser doesn’t and he may become unsatisfied that he may attempt to even mate with boulders. Aw poor guy.

Mating Facts Day 18

Okay this one I found highly interesting. So did you know Orangutans have the longest birth interval of any mammal? In Boreno, females give birth once ever 8 years. In Sumatra some females will only give birth once ever 10 years. 

And female orangutans breed once they turn 17 so that means if 1 adult female orangutan is killed that means it takes the population a long time to recover. 

And tbh this is so important to know. This may be part of the reason why they are so endanger. And this is why it is so important to not kill these guys for any reason.

Did you know? During the mating season, snow leopards will mate aprox. 12-36 times a day! Wow! I feel like some people wish they could go at it for that long in a single day!
