Mating gifts

Apart from what I see as the "main" courting gifts: ie. Jewelery, fancy dates, fancy clothes, etc, the one I see as most approachable is as simple as comfy clothes.

Think about it. Omegas are creatures of comfort. For me at least, I'd appreciate a warm scarf or a soft and cozy hoodie far more than I'd enjoy a fancy dinner date. Plus, it means I could show off the gift I got from my Alpha every time I wear them in public, and be reminded of them when I wear them!

Just imagine all the omegas in comfy hoodies and bundled up in warm scarves.

Do you think any of the Omegas and/or Alphas ever preen over each other?

Yes

~a lot of courting starts with preening and other attention grabbing things ~ Like after they spot whoever it is they’ll preen or whatever when they see them to get their attention~ id day an omega would preen more, ~ an alpha would puff their chests out and stuff, ~and a beta would do the opposite of whatever dynamic they were trying to attract

A/O/B Headcanons #7

A long tradition in the A/B/O universe is that an Alpha Female is allowed to grow her hair out while she is growing up, but when she mates (only to an Omega) she will cut her hair down. This is to differentiate between her and her omega mate, because traditionally ALL omegas kept their hair reasonably long. Even though it is not hard to tell them apart, because male Alphas kept their hair short it became a tradition early on. And although many omegas choose to cut their hair now, Female Alphas still stick with cutting their hair for traditions sake, they can also just grow their hair back out after it’s initial cut. Also, if she chooses, she can cut it in her adolescents and not worry about it.

So idk if this is a mating ritual so much as a courting ritual but I thought I'd submit it anyway. I fucking love the idea that alphas fight for there omegas until there is only one left, the one left gets the honor of proving they can care for the omega with gifts. Such as assortments of food, or trinkets that fancy the omegas interest. This continues until they are presented with the final gift, there is no set boundary on what it can be but it has to say they intend on cherishing (1)

(2) Them till the end of time. If the omega agrees they wait till their next heat to see each other again. Communication is only allowed without the seeing one another. When the omega goes into heat they meet again and “consummate their marriage”  again sorry if this is cliche just had to get it off my chest ~anon

I think this is awesome and I’d like to add a few extra HCs and such.

Mating Traditions #1

~ There is no limit to how many Alphas that can enter a competition for an Omega (occasional beta)

~If only one Alpha wants an Omega that has come of age, then the Omega will decide if they want the courting ritual to begin or wait for another Alpha to take interest 

~ Usually the gift giving starts off small(ish) and builds up into the big gifts. Also, much of the edible gifts are stuff the Alpha either hunted themselves or hand-cooked.

~Communication, like you said, is alright, but it can’t be face to face. Only phone calls, texting, emails, etc. Though if a big event or party is happening they may both go, however they’ll stay supervised.
