While I’m at work I think about my pairings.
A lot.
Especially the ones I have with Roxxy and how they would fair in other universes.
Especially Dulcedomum.
So without further ado, I give you my headcanons of me and Roxxy’s couples in Dulcedomum.
First off we have Charlie and Damien. At first I thought of having Charlie be the wizard, but it actually makes a lot more sense to me to have her be the Guardian to “ageing” Wizard Damien. He made his first pact with a light spirit while rather on the older spectrum, maybe around mid to late 30’s or so. This was probably because his lack of confidence turned other spirits way. Then, as he’s honing his skills and meeting more spirits, Charlie comes into the picture as a fledgling guardian. And he takes care of her because her clumsiness constantly get her hurt and he want that not to happen- also a good way to practice those light powers. And thus the relationship is born! I also feel as though because in both the universe’s that Damien and Charlie have children, Charlie has issues with the second pregnancy, so in this case they would probably go on to have more kids and the spirits would make Damien bare these little ones. Not that he minds.
With Jonah and Bastian it’s fairly obvious (to me anyway) who would be what, especially considering Jonah’s constant in any universe is to protect Bastian from his own stupidity. So with them you have overly flirtatious and flamboyant Wizard Bastian, flirting with every guardian he sees and then comes across Guardian Jonah, who’s probably been there for a while, but not meshed with anyone. Or maybe one person, but it didn’t quite work out. Skip forward a few years and a marriage pact later, they have spirit-born Jethro and adopted Nadezdha from another wizarding couple that didn’t make it.
Keaton and Mathias were also fairly easy to figure out. With Wizard Keaton probably pulling some prank on Guardian Mat or something and they end up being fast friends and then soon come up with a pact that ends up with Mat falling in love with Keaton but not wanting to ruin the great friendship and guardian/wizard relationship they had going and knowing what happened with Keaton’s last lover (Rose’s mother, most likely not a guardian or knows any part about the family for that matter) and the fact that the wizard is straight… And ending up banging him after a hella drunken night.
With Eva and Jake, it’s kind of a toss up. On one hand Eva’s a fighter and on the other hand Jake’s a protector. (As spoken by the great and powerful Roxxy: “Jake is the wizard? because like Mary? could have been his first guardian/lover but Jake became Jake…and then Mary stopped being his lover and it was too painful so he ended their partnership releasing her from his contract”) So more than likely it would be Guardian Eva with Wizard Jake. There would probably be a point where Eva almost gets kicked out of Dulce and she meets up with Jake on accident starting a bit of an unlikely duo and she calms down a bit just to stick around him longer. When it comes to their family and having Emma, because they are both trans, the spirits make sure Eva is the one who gives birth. And she hates Jake the entire ‘pregnancy’, and the entire world for that matter. She becomes a pain in the ass to EVERYONE. If they ever have any other kids besides Emma, the spirits make sure not to do that shit again.
Lastly, Cassi and Van. Even if Van was a part of the Redstone family he’d probably end up a Guardian. But for the sake of these headcanons he’s not. Wizard Cassi is a Redstone. And she travels all around with her parents until she make a pact with a spirit and it’s off to Dulce with her. And she probably meets Guardian Van while he’s training and then talks to him and thinks he’s a total dunce, but he’s smitten with her and follows her around like the love sick puppy he is. And in actually talking to him she finds he’s not as silly as she thought, but he is pretty out there sometimes. They end up having twins because of his genes plus the Redstone genes.
