Matrix II Reloaded
Hi, welcome to Richard’s Reviews.
Today's review is Matrix II Reloaded. This is the sequel to the sci fi adventure. This version introducing a lot in a little time. You find that the post apocalyptic world they really live in is pretty dark. There is not much I mention in my review of the first one. Most of it kept inside the matrix. This reveals how life is outside the matrix. Well at least a little. Keanu is in search for something. He must locate the key master. In which he ends up trapped for the later part of the movie in a loop. Morpheus and Trinity must go save him. When Neo is free he is attacked again by Agent Smith who seems to have morphed into a virus and is able to multiply. Interesting backdrops, and new characters. There is action, and it seems all to real. How will they end their battles and does Neo find what he is looking for?
The front cover is the same three main characters from the first movie. Inside is a slip with the chapter menu, and the bonus disk. On the back is a description and extras. The images reveal the sci fi situations they end in.
I gotta say right off the bat, I was not impressed by this movie. It seemed like they threw it together in pieces but couldn't get the continuity together. At least for me it seemed to like it deviated from the story or maybe I never understood it. They give him all this power, but he is still bound by many laws within the matrix. I thought he was a programmer, and could get out of situations. A lot of it at first is them running around. Once Neo is caught he does nothing but talk. I liked that Agent Smith became something of a virus, and was multiplying, but the fight scene with Neo seemed unnecessary. If that were the case, it should happen a lot more. I appreciated some of the characters they protrayed for this movie. Like the ghost brothers, and a very sexy Monica Belucci. The highway scene always bothered me when I watched it. Since all of the story was so different, they decided to make a large scene in the middle of the freeway. Yet again not necessary. I did not enjoy this part even though they display a lot of work here. From the point of view watching this on a special features explained, it is good to see they worked hard to create this motion. However, to this day, it still did not pizaz me. It is just a chance to show off the powers with lots of vehicular damage. This seems limited in the scope of the matrix, since their powers should exceed this limitation. Finally, and this is a SPOILER, Neo does fulfill the prophecy. He is able to save Trinity in only a way he can.

Some say this is better than the original. I believe it is in the effects department, but the story lost me in the direction I thought it was presenting. A good watch for hardcore sci fi fans. I would go with a rental.
