matsujules replied to your post “how to identify a vanihopu song: 1. must be upbeat, ooey-gooey cheesy...”
Not sure if someone already pitched this, but always thought that the XIII-2 theme (Yakusoku no Basho / New World) fit vanihopu perfectly :3 (...as well as most of the cast but VANIHOPU FEELS <3) The lyrics are just so on point asd;lfad
Going to reply here since it's more relevant.
No, you're the first :D (at least in relation to this fanmix). I agree with you wholeheartedly; they just slipped my mind, so thanks! The problem now is deciding between the two xD. I love New World for numerous reasons but I wonder if Yakusoku no Basho (aka The Promised Place) is more fitting?
New World (x)
Oh but now, I have realized
The reason why I live in this world,
Even you have left me here alone,
I found the way where I can get hope for the future
Having a dream, basking in the sun everyday
I'm starting to thank that I'm still here,
Though the pain of loss still hurts me
Making me smile, making me laugh many times
Everything is gentle to me, because you are making it so
Then now I have realized the reason why I live in this world
It's not to lose what I truly need
I will make, sure to build the beautiful days together
Yakusoku no Basho (x, x^)
If you were here right now,
I wonder what I would be trying to convey to you.
I probably would remain speechless,
rest my cheek on your chest, and let my tears flow.
Oh love, please take me with you
to the promised place.
I will go to your place; this oath is eternal.
If I could call forth love
and bring it into the embrace of my arms,
then, with a smile, I will be able to overcome any pain.
I will not lose this light again.
I will definitely reach your place.
Time heals all.
Rather than wait out that prolonged process,
I will start walking now.
In the place towards which the wind is guiding me,
tomorrow is definitely waiting for me.
^I took the literal translation since I kinda like it more than that other one. Same with Kimi ga Iru Kara, where one translator took liberties and added/changed things... I will admit the looser translations sound/read better but...here's a literal translation of Kimi ga Iru Kara is you're interested /shutting up now
