danny and matt have found the perfect addition for anna.

Matt knocks on the door with his palm. “Anna! Come let us in, sweetie, we got something for ya!”
Danny scoffs and shoos him away from the door. “That’s not how you do it.” Danny knocks, rat-tat-tat-a-tat-a-tat, and then the door unlocks.
“You and your damn sibling codes,” Matt grumbles.
Anna opens the door just a crack, and then fully opens when seeing who it is. “Welcome!” She hugs them both. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“We got something big, Anna,” Matt says, “huge for your show.”
“Nothing like you’ve ever seen before,” Danny insists.
“Oh?” Anna steps down. “Show me.”
They bring her to the trailer, and drop the back door.
Anna gasps. “Oh my god.”
Inside sits a creature, chained to the walls, horns adorned on his head, the eyes and legs of a goat, and a glare that could cut metal.
“Ta-da!” Matt grins, throwing his arms to show off the creature. “We present to you, one of the forgotten gods!”
“How did you get this?” She whispers, almost stepping forward but stopping herself.
“Found him in the mountains,” Danny says. “Heard people talking about something torturing hikers up there, and found him blubbering about sacrifices. He was a bitch to take down.” Danny rolls his shoulders.
“Wow. Thank you guys so much; he’ll be a main attraction.”
“No probs, sis. Where do you want us to put him?”
“Can I keep the trailer? I’m going to need to build a better habitat for him, but until that’s done I can’t let him wander.”
“Sure,” Matt says, “we’ll borrow someone else’s in the meantime.”
“Wonderful!” Anna claps her hands together, and looks towards the god. “You’re going to be in good hands. You’ll find out soon enough.”
The god closes his eyes and leans back, growling lowly in response.
The sound of footsteps wakes Jack up. He doesn’t know how long he’s been out, but it’s still dark out. The lights to the bus have gone out.
He chuckles. “Came to finish the job?”
“Shut yer trap,” Matt Mernard snaps.
Jack lifts his head in curiosity. “Why are you here?”
“To get you out of these damn chains. Danny can’t win if you’re not there to beat.” He starts untying his hands.
“Or is there another reason?”
Matt pauses for a second. “No.”
Jack grins and starts to laugh again. “You were scared of him, weren’t you? Of the choices he made? You felt bad for me, didn’t you?”
“I wasn’t scared.”
“This could be you, you know,” Jack muses. “It could be you in this chair.”
Matt’s hands falter. “He wouldn’t do that. You know why? Cause he’s not a, a sick little pervert like you are. You did this to yourself, pal.”
Jack laughs. “Matt, you really think you’re immune to his rampage? One of these days you’re going to get caught in the crossfire. What are you going to do then?”
Matt doesn’t answer. He finishes untying everything and shoves Jack out of the chair. “Go home, Jack.”
Jack catches his balance and chuckles, brushing his hair out of his face and turning around to look at Matt. He smiles. “Don’t worry, Matt. When the people turn on him, and he turns on you? I’ll help you up.”
“Go home,” Matt repeats, more aggravated. “I don’t wanna see your stupid face until the pay-per-view, you hear me?”
“Loud and clear.”
“Good.” Matt turns to walk, and then turns back. “And if you tell anyone- especially Danny that I came for you-
“My lips are sealed,” Jack says.
“Okay. Alright.” Matt nods, and finally walks, looking back multiple times at Jack.

“It’s no use,” Hook says with a sigh, watching Orange struggle to communicate. “He won’t answer.”
“Maybe he won’t answer you,” Matt says. “Move. I’ll get him back.”
Orange sighs and lets go of Zay and Quen’s hands. “All yours.”
“Connection still strong?” Matt asks, positioning himself in between them.
“Still strong,” they say in unison.
Matt grabs their hands, feeling the space in his ears expand further out. “Danny, it’s Matt. You there?”
He gets no answer at first.
“Come on, Danny, I gotta know that you’re okay. You gotta talk to me. You got all these people worried, and they’ve got me all worried now. Are you okay?”
More silence.
“See, I told you,” Hook starts to say.
“Shh,” Orange shushes him. “Let him work.”
“Danny, are you okay? A simple yes or no will be alright. I miss you, Danny.”
Finally, his ears crackle happily as the response flows through his head, nestling into his eardrums:
“I’m okay.”
Matt sighs with relief and laughs a little. “You’re okay? Oh thank god. I haven’t seen you in a bit, buddy, how are you holding up?”
“Fine.”
“Yeah? Not feeling talkative today? I won’t bother you much more, I just got one more question to ask ya: where are you?”
It goes silent again.
“Danny? Are you still there? Hello?”
“I can’t answer that, Matt.”
“Why not? Danny, are you in some sort of trouble? You gotta let us know if you are-“
“I’m not in any kind of trouble. I just can’t tell you where I am. It’s okay. I’m okay. I have to do this.”
“Do what? Danny, you’re leaving me in the dark here-“
“There are bigger things in this world than me, and you, and everyone else. Someone has to tell the world. Someone has to be the messenger.”
“Danny, what are you talking about? Just tell me where you are, dammit!”
“Someone has to be the messenger.”
“Danny! Danny, come on, where are you?”
He’s met with silence, and it trembles into his skull as the connection breaks.
Zay and Quen gasp, pulling away from Matt like they got burned. “It’s gone.”
“Shit!” Matt kicks at a chair. “What the fuck did he get himself into?“
Danny and Matt scream-laugh as they watch the car sink into the lake. “We did it! We fucking did it!” Danny laughs. He doesn’t care that he’s caked in blood, or that his leg is killing him, or that he’s going to be traumatized for life; right now, he’s alive, and so is Matt, and they won’t have to deal with that psycho ever again.
“Take that, Jack Perry!” Matt yells into the lake. “You thought you were tougher, better than us! Look at you now! We beat you at your own game, dumbass!”
Danny sits with his laughter dying, taking deep breaths as he watches the bubbles subside. “Fuck you, Jack,” he says, lifting a middle finger to the lake.
Matt walks over and pats his shoulder. “Let’s go home, Danny.” He helps Danny up and lets himself be used as a crutch as they limp home together.

Hours after they’re home, after they’re cleaned and bandaged and resting, after they sleep knowing they’re not being chased, something under the water stirs.
Bubbles rise to the surface, the water disrupts as Jack’s body claws up the lakebed.
It’s still dark when his head finally breaches the surface, gasping for air, throwing up water. He pulls his whole body out and wheezes on the edge.
“We all have to sacrifice,” he whispers. “You just made yours, Daniel Garcia.”
