The Liner Notes: Ep 08
Liner notes from Episode 08 ft. Matt Sedillo. Written by Daniel Hees, edited by Kuya David.
I found a real love for performance poetry through A Mic and Dim Lights and people like Matt Sedillo. I remember first seeing Sedillo perform years ago and being blown away. Dear Matt Sedillo,
Today you changed my view of my self. you gave me a reason to stand up and show the real me The me that I have for so long been afraid to show the world you let me know that someone saw me as something other than a background character Yes, there have been others But when you said it you looked me straight in the eyes You let me know that my story can have a voice and that my story can help others I may not always remember the exact words you said but I will always remember the feeling of that moment
I can not move another’s hands with my eyes and I can not change the past with my mind I am me in this moment Now my challenge is to make this moment matter my challenge is to not have a want to look back at my past and wish for a time machine
I thank you for helping me see my strength See that I may not be the strongest but I can and will keep fighting
I am in control of my lives path And I can make it something that I see as worth while
Dear Matt Sedillo, One of the most kind hearted people I have ever met I dedicate this to you
Check out fellow poet, Matt Sedillo, perform his piece titled The Devil, in this awesome montage media thingy. It's explosive!
