If you're hungry for an adult animated sitcom that emphasizes emotional honesty over edgy jokes and toilet humor, Matthew A. Cherry's Young Love (HBO Max/Crave) is a great place to look.
A sequel to the short Hair Love; Young Love showcases the family restarting their collective lives after mother Angela (Issa Rae) is finally home & cancer free. Meanwhile, her husband Stephen struggles to balance his artistic integrity with the egos of the music industry, and the demands of his father-in-law for rent money. There's only a few episodes available so far, but it shows tremendous promise.
A small note, really nice to see a sitcom wherein the mom character is decidedly not "wiser" or the voice of reason. Angela is prone to poor decision making and flights of intense passion while still being immensely likeable.
