Some sketches I drew after watching Possum (2018) by Matthew Holness. I wanted to watch this film from a long time and I don't regret it. It sure was slow paced and had moments that felt a bit too long, but I haven't been this mesmerized by a horror movie since The Babadook by Jennifer Kent. The ambiance, music and performances were incredible. I really appreciated the "retro" feel the kodak film gives. It felt like one of these strange movies you would stumble across on TV as a kid, only a lot more nightmarish. As for the subject matter, I always have a soft spot for movies that deal with trauma in a cryptic way. Possum is open to a lot of different interpretations, so it was definitely enjoyable. It deals with pretty heavy themes though so, be warned.
