Four years ago I was in Urubamba, Peru for a San Pedro ceremony and ended up playing the most magical, classical guitar. The guitar spoke to my heart in a way that I can’t quite explain. I tried to buy the instrument but the owner was not interested in selling it. Ever since, I’ve been searching for the guitar maker, in hopes of owning one of his amazing creations. Today, my friends helped me track him down in the little town of Calca, Peru. Although he didn’t have a completed guitar ready for me today, I told him I would return next year. Please say hello to Gregorio Apasa, master guitar builder.

Big huge thank you to my friend & mentor @wallyingram for laying down some sick drum and percussion tracks for me last week. He’s a true master at his craft & I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. Additional thx to @greenbaum.sidney for engineering the session. Big Changes & Winter Music

Greetings! I hope 2016 is treating you right. Much has changed since I last wrote. I am no longer with the Freddy Jones Band, but don’t be sad, be GLAD! I learned a lot and accomplished many goals, but now it’s back to my own thing, and I couldn't be more excited to share some new music with you.

I started recording last week with an amazing production team and some highly sought musicians including: Fred Eltringham on drums (Sheryl Crow, The Wallflowers), David “De La” Labruyere on bass (John Mayer), Justin Ostrander on guitar (David Nail), Justin Schipper on pedal steel guitar (Tim McGraw), and Dave Cohen on keys (Wynona, Big and Rich). We recorded at Southern Ground in Nashville. You may have seen the studio featured in the Foo Fighter's docu-series, Sonic Highways. It’s a magical space that was recently purchased by the Zac Brown Band, who refurbished it, and brought it back to life. Additionally, a videographer shot the session and we plan to post some of that very soon. One thing you can expect is an evolution in songwriting and musicianship. You’re about to hear a side of me you’ve never heard, and I can’t wait to show you.
