The Romano family, as their name shows, was originated from Rome. A branch of Romano family fled to Naples in the Italian Unification War (The Capture of Rome1870).
A young son, Adalberto(Al) left Naples and went to America in the 1900s(during the Great Arrival1880-1920). He was clever enough to set up his business, married an American Italian woman Luna and had a son named Matthew.
Al decided to stay in America, so he gave Matthew a middle name ‘Naples’ to let his son remember his origin, and Al cherish his wife, so he gave Matthew ‘Campbell’ as a second middle name.
But the Campbell family viewed Al with a stereotype as a poor and rude peasant. At last,Al had to divorce. He took Matthew and returned to Naples.
Later in life, Matthew hid his middle name.
