The door opened and the two most powerful men in the galaxy were tearing each others clothes off in the dim light that spilled in from outside. As dreams went it would have been the perfect if the figures hadn’t been so oddly fuzzy and obscure, almost like Matt was watching them without his glasses. What a stupid detail to include in a dream. Hux dragged Kylo towards the bed and fell backwards onto the mattress. And onto Matt. And Thanisson. DVD commentary ask :)
Alternative Accommodation - Thanisson & Matt have just broken into Kylo’s shuttle and fallen asleep after making use of the Kylux love nest. Except, oh no, Kylo and Hux are home! And that’s where the fic ends :D
I’m addicted to twist/surprise/comedy endings for fics. I love to finish a fic on a high note and for a story with an absurd premise like this one its very fitting. They could have just cleaned up and left, had a row about stained sheets or done a walk of shame out of the hangar, but isn’t an unexpected belly laugh even better?
I had a few asks and comments asking me to ‘finish’ the story, but they were often accompanied by theories of what might have happened. There was so much range- they got court-marshalled; they ran away; Hux & Kylo invited them to join in; Kylo wiped their minds; they were separated; etc. Which honestly is the best possible outcome for me. Its like the bit in Nightmare Before Christmas when Jack explains presents; that’s the point of the thing- not to know! I’m here in Kylux because Hux was a vague character that we could do anything we liked with and it could be justified. An X-rated ending would have been satisfying for some readers but others would prefer a more realistic outcome- this way you get both. It can be as hilarious or filthy or sad as you like.
I also have a great fondness for blending reality and dreams, and I find my characters communicate best in bed, so I liked the idea of having a canon-glasses-wearer dealing with an awkward situation haha.
