His eyes lit up as the other offered him food. This wasn't something he had eaten before so he examined it curiously for a moment, clearly trying to determine how he should eat it.

THE FIRES BURNED DEEP WITHIN HIS SOUL. Anger seeped and spilled forth to his soul. Dark tendrils wrapped around his heart as the furnace grew alight. Hatred served as tinder as the fire roared in his heart.
“ So do I. “ Obi-Wan replied, holding his gaze steady. His lips twitched, curling into a sneer. Hands curled into tight fists. His chest rose and fell as his breaths grew heavy.
Green clashed with red. The padawan watched, first in anticipation then horror, as the Zabrak plunged the lightsaber straight through his master’s chest. Time stopped as did his breath. Someone was screaming.
His master’s dying wish whispered in his head. For evermore it haunts his dreams.
“ I hope one day the image of you would vanish entirely from my mind. “

Dank farrik, the heat was terrible. Being targetted by bandits was bad enough, but the fact his speeder’d crashed so far away from Mos Eisley meant that he had quite a ways to go, still.
The sun was high, beating down on his armour as he walked and making it glint like treasure. The sand was soft, making it so that his boots sank a few inches deeper than they had any right to with every step. With all the things he carried along with him, the Mandalorian knew that he’d end up collapsing in his bunk the moment he made it to his ship, but he didn’t exactly have time to rest. He was lucky, then, that the regulator in his helmet was probably the only thing that kept him from collapsing, and probably doubly lucky that he walked with the sun at his back to provide the little one in his satchel some shadow to hang in.
It could be worse, he thought. It really could be...
The Child squeaked suddenly, both his ears perking up as his head turned wildly to the side.
“What?” the Mandalorian asked in turn.
“Aah,” the Child replied, his hand reaching out to the side.
It wasn’t the most concrete instruction. Finally deciding to turn his own head to look where the little one was pointing, the Mandalorian thought he’d see a creature, or an oasis, or something, but all there was was more sand and more sky.
“There’s nothing there, kid,” he grunted, just barely keeping himself from sounding exhausted by it. He took another step forward after that, but the Child made a louder noise and pointed with a more frantic jerk of the arm.
The Mandalorian dipped his head to look at him. “...you really wanna go that way?”
“Buuuwah.”
Looking at the incredible expanse of nothing, the Mandalorian sighed, but turned in the direction the Child pointed to.
“...all right, kid.”
So off they went.
True enough, the first half hour he spent walking gave him nothing at all. It was all sand, and it was all sky, and the sun was beginning to move lower towards the horizon. They were definitely going to camp out tonight at this rate, and though rocks were beginning to appear about them, there wasn’t really anything of interest besides. The Mandalorian had tried to turn back in Mos Eisley’s direction several times, but each attempt got the Child whining at him and insisting they continue on instead.
By the second hour of walking, the bright blue of the sky was beginning to swerve towards orange. Sunset was coming, and still he wasn’t sure what the Child had been so adamant about them finding. Sure, there were rocks of all sizes, and they passed a few animals on the way, but honestly--
Then the Mandalorian came to a stop.
Off in the distance, there were a few rocks dotting the horizon, but...
“Is that--?”
There was something skinny on one of them. And the Child, eyes widening, let out a cheerful trill.
“What... did you know they were there?”
Another chirp. The Mandalorian appreciated the effort, but he hoped the kid knew that wasn’t reassuring at all.
What other choice did they have, though? This was the first sign of life they’d seen in hours. If they were lucky, it could be a lone Tusken. So, swallowing, the Mandalorian took in a breath, adjusted the stick held over his shoulders, and then began the walk towards that figure in the sun.
“All right,” he muttered, “kid.”
