When were y'all gonna tell me that Matt officially said 'The Last Kids on Earth' was cancelled?
I though it was just on hiatus or something.
I've been waiting for NOTHING.

October 17th, 2019!
Today’s pick is every middle schoolers’ worst nightmare--a book about going to school and being attacked by monsters. Okay, maybe that’s not every middle schoolers’ worst nightmare? Well, at least its a great Halloween read!
Today’s pick:
The Last Kids On Earth by Max Brallier & Douglas Holgate
Synopsis:
“Ever since the monster apocalypse hit town, average thirteen year old Jack Sullivan has been living in his tree house, which he's armed to the teeth with catapults and a moat, not to mention video games and an endless supply of Oreos and Mountain Dew scavenged from abandoned stores.
But Jack alone is no match for the hoards of Zombies and Winged Wretches and Vine Thingies, and especially not for the eerily intelligent monster known only as Blarg. So Jack builds a team: his dorky best friend, Quint; the reformed middle school bully, Dirk; Jack's loyal pet monster, Rover; and Jack's crush, June. With their help, Jack is going to slay Blarg, achieve the ultimate Feat of Apocalyptic Success, and be average no longer!
Can he do it?”

Why you should add it to your TBR: This is a monster-filled adventure with great humor, artwork, and monsters, of course. Also, there’s great character development in this book!

Middle School Monday: The Last Kids on Earth by Max Brallier
13-year-old Jack Sullivan lives alone in a tree house, but that’s not the strangest thing about his life right now. The strangest thing is the monster apocalypse that happened 42 days ago, which is why some people (like his foster family) ran away, some people were turned into zombies, and monsters of all shapes and sizes are now roaming the streets. 42 days ago, Jack was an ordinary boy. But now he has the potential to be a real hero, the kind that slays monsters and rescues damsels in distress. But that plan can only work if he doesn’t get eaten first.
This book is the first volume of a hilarious, action-packed, and gross series, with awesome illustrations by Douglas Holgate. These books are already getting a lot of attention, but now that the story is coming out as a Netflix series on September 17th, the books will really be flying off the shelves!
The Last Kids on Earth and the Cosmic Beyond by Max Brallier

But their winter wonderland turns dark when a villainess begins hunting them. And this villainess is different—she’s a human. When the villainess steals Jack's prized monster-slaying tool, the Louisville Slicer, he vows to get it back. But it won’t be easy. Jack and his friends soon discover that the Louisville Slicer is the key to a dark plan that threatens the entire world—and beyond...
