McGee Gets Call, Leads Packers to Win Over Chiefs
Jan. 15, 1967 – “I was sitting on the bench, enjoying the shady side of the field for a while – we normally sit on the sun side when we play in the Coliseum – and I heard somebody yell, ‘McGee!’” That call, a summons for Packers receiver Max McGee, is answered in sublime fashion by the veteran, who catches seven passes for 138 yards in Green Bay’s 35-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the first Super Bowl.

Hornung Shares Tales of McGee
Nov. 7, 1990 – Paul Hornung shares this story at former teammate Max McGee’s roast. “We were in (The Picadilly) one night and in walked a rough looking motorcycle gang. The leader of the gang looked dead straight at me and said, ‘McGee, you are a SOB.’ McGee nudged me and said, ‘Well, Max, what are you going to do about that?’ I looked at him, and we started laughing. That saved the whole thing.”
