Potober Day 8: "From the moment I first heard you sing"
Sándor Korvin and Maria. Love that shot of his silhouette through a door when she first gets on stage.
Max Schell probably does one of the best creepy phantom voices imo

My Dad's names for Phantoms
I saw a post where somebody showed photos of Avengers characters to his wife and asked her to name them. So I did the same. With phantoms.
Here we go:
↑ Bank robber
↑ Birb Man
↑ Either 300 years old or leprose
↑ This guy had a car accident
↑ KZ-Prisoner
↑ Evil mannequin
↑ Hannibal Lecter
↑ Hockey mask dude
↑ Dude who ran into Wall
↑ Mr Bignose
I have this picture hanging on my wall. Whenever I find a new Phantom version I add it.
I'm rewatching the Max Schell version of PotO and I've noticed something that actually made me smile. Jane Seymour 's character ( let's say Christine ) has a rival ( let's say Carlotta ) who says that Christine has THE EVIL EYE. At that moment, the Phantom is shown and he does the "rock out" pose with his right hand ( as someone put it ) -- the exact same gesture the ballet rats do at the absent Persian in the novel . LOL !!! ( The Persian and the ballet girls from the Lon Chaney movie below). Interesting how this version -- very loosely based on Leroux -- has some great Leroux-faithul moments . A good unmasking scene and now this :)
