MAX HADN’T EXPECTED TO SEE HIM, in her opinion, she looked a wreck - her clothes were soaking wet, she was uncomfortable. fingers were starting to freeze as she tried to shove her hands in her pockets. “mike ??” breathing heavily against the rain that pelted against her skin, “what are you doing here ?? i---- didn’t know you were here----” and she didn’t, everywhere she looked, max saw her friends in everyone - it wasn’t them, though. deep down that hurt especially since lucas felt so far away from her. “what are you doing out in the storm ??” max’s board was settled under a foot as she tried to keep it steady.
